Ukiyo no za Kyuketsuki...
Chapter
1: The Reincarnated Prince
In the silence of
the night, the moon watches over the vampire realm, it's silvery light
shining
gently upon the tall mansion towering over the realm's center. Outside
the
mansion the towns around it are at peace, sleeping and awaiting the
arrival of
morning sun. Inside the mansion there is confusion as the servants rush
to the
mistress's aid. She is in labor.
Watching the maid
scurry left and right, Alucard stood leaning on a wall waiting for the
birth of
his child. Inside the room Katlina, ruler of the sorcery realm was
having her
child. The first of child of his or her kind being both sorcerer and
vampire
blood. Such a combination was unheard of. Many thought of it as a good
thing,
while others who envy the power that will become of it do not believe
such a
thing should have ever happened.
After
several hours of labor the
child had been born. It was a boy. The young maid had spent a little to
long
with cleaning the newborn and was rushing to get back to her mistress.
While
traveling up a long hallway to the Katlina's room she happen to hit
Alucard who
was on his way to the room as well. Immediately the child had been
crying from
the pain of being smashed between the two people. Alucard gave the maid
an
angry look before turning. The maid curtsied and scurried past him to
the room.
Inside
the room, Katlina lie in
the bed half propped up by a pillow back her back, her face still red
from all
the frustration of birth giving. She took a breath and pushed back her
waist
length, purple hair ruffled and out place. Then as the door opened
almost
silently she turned her attention to it. The young maid had finally
brought the
child. "Finally", Katlina whispered. The baby in her arms
she looked down on him. His hair was a brilliant blue-violet. His eyes
now open
were a pale navy blue. Katlina sighed happily but then realized that
Alucard
wouldn't be happy about looks of his son. But before she could think
about it
further Alucard the room and spotted the child. "What's this...?”, he
said
warily taking the child from Katlina despite her crying to have him
back.
Alucard frowned, "He looks just like my father." Alucard looked at
Katlina who was in tears. He looked back at the child and smiled at
him,
"No matter", he said, "You may look like him but you'll never be
anything like that old fool." They spent at least an hour in the room
deciding on a name. Alucard tried many but Katlina turned them all
away. In the
end the baby was named after his grandfather Tepes Malus Vladimor the
first.
Alucard protested but he knew he would not win so he let it be.
Chapter 2: Second Year and the Twins of
Destiny
Months
passed and young Malus as
Katlina called him grew under Alucard's watchful eye. Malus's birthday
had been
several months’ back and Katlina had been pregnant since before than.
She was
in labor again. Alucard was more nervous than usual as he paced back
and forth
outside her door. He was more worried this time because she wasn’t
having not
one, but two. Careful to stay out of the maids’ way he watched the door.
Inside
the room there were
screams and heavy breathing as well as coaching from the maid helping.
The
first child has came already it had been boy, he had already been
cleaned and
brought back to the mother, but she herself was still in labor with the
second
one. "Stubborn thing", Katlina thought to herself as she pushed her
hardiest. An hour later it was over and Katlina finally was able to
relax.
Alucard came into the room when he thought it was safe to enter. As he
looked
over Katlina whom was asleep while holding on two her newborns. A boy
and girl
looking identical yet they were not paternal. Alucard looked at the two
babies.
Both had blue hair and seeing the girl one was awake he assumed they
both had
bright green eyes. Assuming Katlina would not wake any time soon he
decided to
hold one of the twins. He looked from the one sleeping to the one
awoke. The
girl stared at Alucard and blinked several times. He decided to pick
her up.
Once
in his arms she immediately
started crying. "Oh god", Alucard whispered. He tried to calm her,
but it didn't help when she started screaming rather than crying. Then
before
he noticed it the other one was crying to and Katlina was looking at
him
angrily. "Um", Alucard said nervously, "she just started crying
when I picked her up. I didn't." Alucard handed the baby back to her.
Just
as he did, they both stop crying. Alucard turned and sat down in a
chair in the
room sighing as he did. Then the room darkened. "Oh god she's here",
Alucard mumbled. The room was as dark as the sky when it had no moon,
sun, or
stars. Slowly Alucard, Katlina and the twins watched two balls of light
swirl
around the room, one black and the other white. Soon it was joined by a
third
ball, it being yellow. Then all three balls stopped in front of the
Katlina all
of them becoming a different person. Amongst them now were 3 figures
two women
and male, the male being a twin of one the females. The first one
spoke.
"Hey", she said looking at the twins. Katlina tossed a smile to the
women, "It's been a while Artemis." Artemis was the goddess of the
Moon, she at the same time as Katlina was the mother of the twin's
Katlina held
but had nothing to do Alucard. Artemis stepped closer to the bed; she
looked
from the girl to the boy and took the girl from Katlina. Looking at her
threw
her slightly glowing silver eyes she smiled at the child warmly and
held her
close. "Morina", Artemis said quietly, "That's is your name, for
now." The baby looked at her for a second longer and then reached for
Artemis midnight blue hair and pulled at it. "Ow!" Artemis yelped,
"Please dear, please let go." The other two people laughed at the
sight of Artemis struggling with an infant. "Ikazumi", Artemis
whimpered, "help" The other woman stepped to help Artemis. Although
she had a smile on her face, there was a fierce look in her soft golden
eyes
and her black hair looking alive with its bluish white stripes that
resembled
lightning. Ikazumi gently wrenched the baby's hand from Artemis's hair
and took
her into her own arms afterward.
Ikazumi
waited to see if she'd
do anything, but after the baby leaned against her she looked at
Artemis who
turned away with an envious look on her face. "Perhaps she was meant to
weld lightning", Ikazumi said while blessing the child with such
powers.
All the while twin male of the Artemis had taken the other baby and was
holding
him. He and Artemis were just like the twins that just had just been
born. "Apollo",
Artemis said tapping him on the shoulder. Apollo jump slightly and so
he the
child he had been holding. Artemis giggled, "He is just like you."
Apollo sighed, "Well whatever", he looked at the boy again,
"Myukki, that's your name. And one day you'll take my place as Light
God", he smiled as the baby seemed to be giving him a hug. Apollo was a
lot like his sister but different in many ways like if looks weren't
like her
all the time. For example he held the looks of what is was a light god.
His
hair was white, the purest white anyone could ever have as a hair color
and his
eyes were soft gold much like Ikazumi's and he's was a spoiler meaning
if
Artemis wanted something and begged enough she'd get it no problem. All
the
while the twins held the infants talked among themselves before leaving
and
ascending into the heavens it the balls of light from which they came.
After
watching them depart Katlina once again held her twins in her arms and
slowly
lulled them to sleep.
Chapter 3: A very special
halfbreed
Heading
from bar to bar in the
Demon Realm Katlina had had an enough drinks to supply a regular
drunken for a
year. She and Alucard were not getting along too well after their last
meeting
in the bedroom. Alucard didn’t think it was a big thing but however he
had not
cared back when he caused the problem himself. Katlina did not want to
stick
around to be handled so roughly again, so she told him she’d spend this
night
doing whatever while he watched Malus and twins.
This
had been nearly nine months
before Katlina bore another child. But unlike the rest her newest
female child
was part demon. Shocked Katlina did want to even start to think about
how it
happened but she knew Alucard would demand to know.
Sitting
in her bed, Katlina let
her eyes rest on the small orange red hair infant that lie snuggled in
her
arms. She would dare look at Alucard. “Katlina” Alucard said again for
the
third time. “I’m beginning to lose my patience.” Katlina looked at him
finally
“Patience what do you need patience for?” She said pretending not to
know what
was going on.
Oh
he needed patience all right
but unfortunately all he was gone. Deciding that she was not apparently
going
to answer him, he stood and took the infant from her so carefully and
quick
that it took Katlina’s mind a second longer to realize it. “No!”
Katlina cried
as she realized he was threatening the newborn’s life. Alucard stepped
out of
her reach then asked again. “Why is this child part demon? Answer me or
I’ll
kill it I swear.” Of course he wasn’t going to harm the infant but he
did need
an answer.
Just
as Katlina was about to
explain, the infant who had been asleep opened her eyes and stared up
at
Alucard. Alucard didn’t realize the child was awake until he felt
something
pull at his coat. “Huh?” Alucard said blinking several times before
looking at
the baby. At that moment he saw her for what she really was. Inside
those
bright yellow green eyes were not only a demon but a vampire as well,
she was a
halfbreed. Alucard didn’t know how such a thing could happen but he no
longer
had to know. He knew the father was a demon but yet he was the father
as well.
For a second he thought about it, then it clicked in his mind. The
morning
Katlina had returned from her night of wandering the Demon Realm, he
approached
her and asked for forgiveness. After being forgiven he took her that
very
morning.
Looking
back down at the child
he gave her, her name. “Naomi, Naomi Tsuki-hoshi” he said thoughtfully
as Naomi
cooed happily. “Tsuki for my realm since we are people of the moon and
Hoshi
for the demon who are people of the stars.” Katlina was relieved to see
Alucard
had accepted the child and had figured out why she was what she was.
With she
watched with interest as Alucard’s fondness for Naomi seem to grow as
she giggled
and pulled at his coat buttons.
He
and Naomi had played a good
hour before she became fussy and started crying. Not knowing what to do
he
looked to Katlina for an answer. Smiling she handed him a bottle and
told him
to feed her. Just as he started Malus and the now 2 year old twins ran
in the
room. Malus was seeking refuge from them so he ran to Katlina. “Mommy!”
Malus
cried as he jumped on the bed with her “save me!” Katlina suppressed
her urge
to laugh and hugged Malus close. “Aw” said Morina who held a sling shot
behind
her back, “you always run away just when we starting to fun have with
you.”
Alucard sighed as gently pulled the bottle away from Naomi long enough
for her
to breathe for giving it back. “Its ‘just when we were starting to have
fun
with you” said Myukki in his squeaky voice that most 2 yr. old boys
have.
Morina who did not like being corrected balled up her tiny fist and hit
Myukki
in the nose. Immediately he started crying but wasn’t about to let her
hit him
and get away with it. So he hit her back and then it started.
Sighing
Katlina set Malus on the
other side of her on the bed and tried to stand. “Stop” Katlina, said
loudly
“Stop it right now!” She knew words wouldn’t stop them so she tried to
get
other to them to stop it. Unfortunately Katlina didn’t have the
strength to
stand, she had not too long ago gave birth to Naomi and had not
recovered any
strength. Alucard knew this, so as she stood her legs gave way. Quickly
he sat
Naomi who had fallen asleep again in the nearby crib and caught her.
Grinning
Alucard kissed her and sat her back in the bed. “You know better,” he
said
teasingly as Katlina blushed.
Turning
his attention to the
twins who were still fighting, Alucard sighed. “Morina,” he said as he
looked
at her with Myukki’s arm in her mouth “and Myukki.” At the sound of
their names
they stopped at looked at Alucard. “Come here.” Alucard said. Afraid
now, they
walked over to his side, Morina now trying to hide behind Myukki.
Alucard
sighed again before reaching over Myukki and grabbing Morina before she
could
run away. “Daddy no!” she cried as she shielded herself with her arms.
“Hush.”
Alucard said fiercely as he shook her. “You did start it, I was
watching.”
Sniffling she looked at Katlina who pretended not to see her. “Mommy,”
Morina
said pleading with her to save her from Alucard. “Mommy isn’t going to
save you
this time.” he said feeling satisfied that Katlina had not interfered
this
time. “Now I’ll make this easy. Say you’re sorry to Myukki for starting
the
fight.” “But!” Morina said cutting in. “And, you both apologize to
Malus.”
Alucard finished. Myukki automatically apologized knowing already what
would
happen if he hadn’t. “Good boy,” Alucard said smiling. “You can go
now.” Now
Morina sat trying to squirm out of Alucard’s lap. “Say it or else,” he
said.
She gulped and choked up an apology to Myukki right as he left and
another to
Malus. “All right” Alucard said as he left her go. Not five minutes
after Malus
and Morina left Katlina started giggling at Alucard, who crossed him
arms and
practically pouted for the rest of the day.
Chapter 4: Black Magic Realm Adventure
Walking
out in front Morina now
three year old led the way deep into the Kyuuketsuki Realm. Behind her
she
pulled a small black wagon, on the wagon was ten-month-old Naomi.
Trailing
behind them was Myukki, Malus, now five, and Alucard who had been made
go
along.
That
morning the twins had
dragged Alucard from his bed. After landing on his head he looked to
his left
and spied Katlina calmly reading as if she hadn’t saw what happened at
all.
Growling silently he had stood up and started down at the twins. “What
do you
want now?” He asked aware that Katlina now watched him.
For
a moment they just looked at
him as if deciding what to do. Then as Alucard began to look at
Katlina, the
twins produced two colored; both looking strange as the twins put them
side by
side to show Alucard.
Alucard studied the pictures before getting confused and looking to
Katlina who
was struggling to hide a smile. Focusing back on the twins, Alucard
decided
he’d decipher this by looking at each picture separately. ‘Why can’t
they just
tell me instead of using these confusing pictures?’ he thought as he
studied
each picture. Seeing that he was going to catch on this time, Morina
nudged
Myukki as if she were telling him something. In response he nodded.
Then they
both let the pictures go, proud of the looks on both Katlina and
Alucard’s
faces as the pictures remained airborne. With a wave of her index
finger Morina
produced a light at the tip of it. Pointing at her picture she sent the
light
at it while Myukki did the same in unison. In that moment the two
pictures
combined to make a moving background.
After
coming to his sense
Alucard studied the picture once more and finally understood. ‘The
Kyuuketsuki
Realm’, he thought while taking Katlina’s shaking hand and cradling it
in his
own. “You want to go there?” Alucard said while wondering how they had
managed
to make such a fine piece of magic. He wouldn’t ask them, he didn’t
need to,
but he’d have to explain it to Katlina once the twins were gone.
Turning his
attention back to the twins, he looked down at his legs he noticed them
there.
From his legs they looked at him as he looked back. For five minutes
they did
not move or blink, which frankly scared Alucard himself. Seeing that
they
weren’t about to give up any time soon he sighed defeated and watched
them
scream happily and run out the room.
Just as they left Alucard released Katlina’s hand and studied her
facial
expression. “I guess you haven’t figured it out yet huh?” he said while
going
to close the door so that he could safely explain. Just as it was
almost
closed, the door itself hit something and that something started
wailing. “My
baby!” Katlina said as she sprang from the chair and rushed to the
doorway.
Stepping out the way Alucard gulped as Katlina glared at him as she
lifted
Naomi from the doorway. Holding her tiny fingers gingerly Katlina tried
calming
Naomi. “You squished her fingers!” Katlina yelled now just as
hysterical as
Naomi.
Over
the years Alucard had taken
care to notice just how sensitive Katlina was about her children
getting hurt.
And he had taken careful steps to avoid not being the cause of their
getting
hurt. But now he hadn’t been careful enough. “Why weren’t you looking
out for
her,” Katlina cried. “You knew she could crawl. You knew!” Alucard
gulped again
not knowing what to say. ‘I did know’, he thought, ‘but my goodness
woman’.
“I’m sorry,” he finally said taking Naomi into his own arms. Looking at
her
while trying to calm her, he rubbed Naomi’s fingers until her cries
ceased.
Then quietly he apologized to Naomi herself before gently setting her
back down
on the ground. After she had hugged his leg and crawled out the door,
Alucard
once again closed the door; this time making sure no fingers were in it.
Turning
to Katlina whose face
was reddened with frustration; Alucard pulled out his handkerchief and
wiped
the tears from her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” he said again, “I am.”
Sniffling
Katlina nodded accepting his apology as he tucking the handkerchief
back into
his coat pocket. Settling himself in a chair next to her, he let a
shield up
around the room so that the children could not hear anything from
outside the
room nor get in. Just as he was about to speak Katlina spoke first,
“Say um.”
She said with uncertainly, “why were the twins able to use magic? I
mean we had
to learn and…” Katlina paused to think in that time Alucard chose to
explain
now. “Remember how Artemis and Apollo had come to you right when you
first got
pregnant with the twins?” He said as he watched her nod acknowledging
it. “They
had told us that their only son and daughter would be reincarnated in
you.”
Katlina nodded once more and then spoke, “And they were the Sun and
Moon god
and goddess.” “Right,” he said cutting in, “And you may have forgotten
but all
god or goddess children are born with common knowledge of advanced
magic or
Black Magic and as well as common sense.” “Oh so that’s why,” Katlina
said
finally getting it, “Oh yeah about the twins wanting to go to the
Kyuuketsuki
Realm… Your taking them and,” she said stopping a protest, “Your taking
Malus
because you didn’t take him last time and your taking Naomi too…Just
because
you squished her fingers. Discussion over…now get going.”
With
that Alucard had been made
go along, knowing only that he would be going to the Kyuuketsuki Realm,
but not
knowing where in it. Putting the thought aside he looked ahead and
gasped. They
were nearing the Castle of Vania. ‘My god’, Alucard thought as they
neared the
castle itself.
Untouched
by time there it
stood, towering above the entire realm. It wasn’t originally built in
this
realm so Alucard had been told. When he was a child, he been taken into
the
castle itself long ago to meet was he believed to be his grandfather.
Problem
was his appearance was strange, as told by his mother and father he
knew that
vampires don’t age past 30; this man looked over 80.
From what he could remember he never saw his grandmother and when he
asked
about her he was turned away and scolded. The day he was taken to his
grandfather, he was twelve. From the boat ride to the castle itself all
the way
to the very top quarters of it, it had been the longest walk he had
ever
endured. When he made it to the final room, he found himself before a
tall gray
haired man, which told him a great number of things. But one thing
puzzled him
why was Morina leading him to this castle. How did she know where to
find it
and did she want to come?
Focusing
back on Morina, he put
his questions aside. There she stood with her hands raised to the body
of water
held the castle and its island then as she spoke in old language of the
first
vampires, she stood on air speaking the language Alucard himself had
tried so
hard to forget. Much so his own amazement he found himself transfixed
on the
boat coming straight at them.
Once Morina stopped speaking the boat stopped moving and in a flash of
light
they were all on the boat as if it were by teleportation. Alucard the
only one
nervous wondered why this was happening. Why his daughter could control
the
castle when no one use could. He even wondered if this was his
daughter.
Looking
ahead he saw that they
were nearing the castle's island, once they reached it they were
teleported
again. This time onto the island grounds. Unable to speak or control
where he
was going, Alucard and the other children followed Morina deep within
the
island's thick forest. As they past undead creatures and villagers,
they parted
willingly for Morina as if she were royalty among them and as the
passed the
villa and crossed through the sewers every creature parted for her, no
creature
dared block her pathway to the castle. And before they knew they were
inside
the Castle of Vania.
It
seemed as memories were
rushing back to Alucard as he took in the sites of the castle once
again making
him wish that he had never come. He wanted to leave. He wanted to leave
now.
But who was he to stop her? He couldn't even control his own arms and
legs.
With only his eyes, Alucard was defenseless to this child he knew was
not his
daughter and never been.
As they traveled deeper and upward, they pasted several chambers, some
in which
certain other races originated, the Tower of Sorcery being one. After
passing
the chambers they climbed the clock tower and headed for the final
staircases
up to the highest elevation of the castle, the resting place of
Dracula. As
they climbed the final steps, Alucard resisted and pulled away from
Morina's
control. As badly as he did not want to tangle with a power strong than
his, he
did not want to enter the final room but he efforts were futile. As
quickly as
he had pulled away he was now being pulled back and locked into place.
Then
whether he wanted to or not they entered the room.
Inside the room was filled with misty and the smell of blood and at the
back of
the room was an oversized red coffin which also seemed to be the final
destination for Morina. Stopping in front of the coffin she began to
sing in
old tongue. At same time Morina began to transform in a woman, a woman
who to
Alucard looked similar to his father as if this were his mother. When
her song
ceased she was no longer a child but a woman in her mid 20s.
With
her attention on the
coffin, she stepped back as Dracula himself rose from it. When he came
to stand
beside Morina, Myukki and Naomi were transported back to Sorcery Realm
with no
memories of this trip. Malus and Alucard regained control of their
bodies but
did not dare move in Dracula's presence. With his now on Morina,
Dracula then
spoke. "You've finally come back to me, my darling Morina." With that
he embraced her and for a while that's all they did. As if they were
long lost
lovers reunited, they would be reunited soon but the time was now.
After
releasing Morina, Dracula turned to Malus and told him a great deal of
things
to come. He told him that he would be the one to keep Morina's power in
check
until she was old enough to control it and that he would help her when
it was
time for Dracula himself to be reborn.
After
telling both Alucard and
Malus many things, Dracula embraced Morina once more before seeing her
return
to her childlike form. Then he spoke one last time. "I'm tired of
holding
on to this body and since Morina has been successfully reincarnated, I
will
cease to exist in this world until the time comes for my reincarnation.
Also
Morina will not remember any of this until she has control over her
powers,
keep that in mind. And remember what I've told you forgetting will only
lead to
a future of hardships," Dracula then wheezed, "I will teleport you
home by then I will be long gone....Farewell." With that they were
teleported back to the Sorcery Realm.
Now at the front door of Katlina's mansion, Alucard stood holding
Morina as she
rested in his arms. He understood now why no one would mention his
grandmother,
she had died in her previous life and he was needed to help reincarnate
her
therefore he was not allowed to know about her until now. Sighing he
look
towards to the Kyuuketsuki Realm and the Castle of Vania and felt what
every
vampire inside the two realms felt. Great sorrow and joy.
Chapter 5: Bad Situations
It
had been just a few years
after the incident at the castle, Naomi had just turned four and was
visiting
her other father in the Demon Realm. Morina and Myukki seven now were
busy
reading up on realm history and rules and Malus decided to take up his
real
name Tepes, was out hanging out with the other nine year olds living in
the
realm. With Katlina gone for realm ruler reasons, Alucard was left with
the
children.
All
went well the first few
days, so Alucard thought. Alucard himself never had to care for the
children.
That was always Katlina’s job. This time around he wondered why she was
always
tired. ‘This is easy’, he thought as he rose from where was sitting.
Just as he
did a crash came from Myukki and Morina’s study room. “Damn,” Alucard
said
under his breathe, “I knew it would last forever.”
As
he ran to the room he could
hear Morina yelling and more crashes. Stopping at the door he paused to
think
he should really go in. Deciding that the situation would get worse he
entered.
“Get out of my face!” Morina yelled to Myukki who really was in her
face. “You
get out of mine!” Myukki said shoving Morina out of the way. Alucard
who was
still at the door watched on a little longer while his presence still
remained
undetected.
Stumbling
backward Morina
grabbed a nearby chair and lounged it at Myukki. Seeing that he had to
do
something Alucard stepped in and stopped the chair in mid air right
before it
hit Myukki. Gasping Myukki fell backward onto the floor while Morina
went for
another chair. But before she could Alucard waved his hand and froze
Morina in
her place. “Let me go!!” She screamed while trying to move. “As much as
you
want to hurt brother,” Alucard said as he came to her side, “and as
much as he
might deserve it. I’m not going to allow you.” Then he turned Myukki,
“You
however…” “It’s not my fault!” Myukki said trying to escape punishment
“She
started it!” “It doesn’t matter Myukki” Alucard said cutting in, “You
pushed
her first.” “But she was going to hit me with a chair!” he cried. “And
had she,
she would be in her room the rest of the day as well.” Alucard said
pointing at
the door. “Now go.”
Grumbling
Myukki headed for his
room leaving Alucard and Morina still in the study room. Sighing
Alucard
snapped his fingers and freed Morina, “Come here and tell me what
happened,” he
said while settling himself a chair. “We were fine until Myukki needed
help, I
went to help him and…we were doing fine until I found a mistake.” Then
she
paused “Then the argument started and he got in my face…that’s when he
pushed
me and everything else happened.” Alucard sighed again and nodded, “I
see, okay
then you can go”
After
watching her pick on the
two chairs and scurry out of the room, he rubbed his forehead. ‘These
children
are giving me headaches already’, he thought to himself, ‘Katlina needs
to
hurry up and get back here.’ Sighing he left the room and headed back
downstairs. As he reached the living room, he thought to himself,
‘Tepes needed
schooling, but these two they know all they need. What are they going
to do for
all these years? I wonder…Myukki never acted so aggressive towards his
sister
like that before. Maybe he’s…’ As he reached a cough he put his
thoughts aside.
For
an hour Alucard sat in that
same chair until he fell asleep. Then unexpectedly a loud crash came
from the
downstairs kitchen. Alucard rushed for the kitchen and almost swore.
“Myukki
and Morina Tsuki” Alucard shouted while practically pulling his own
hair, “What
in the world did you do?!” As he stood at the doorway he stared at the
powdered
white kitchen. ‘Katlina is going to kill me’ Alucard thought as he
wiped a bit
of flour off a counter.
Just
as he was about to ask for
an answer again, Katlina came through the front door with Tepes
trailing behind
her. “Alucard?” she said walking towards the kitchen, “Where…are… Oh my
god…”
Katlina stopped and dropped her things and ran into the kitchen past
Alucard.
“What the hell happened to my kitchen!?” she said while staring at the
twins.
But before she could get an answer Myukki dropped the knife he was
carrying and
ran. “Whoa buddy where you going?” Alucard said stopping him at the
doorway,
“Well?” Alucard looked at Myukki for an answer but he said nothing,
just
blankly stared forward. “Mommy…,” said a faint voice from the kitchen
floor.
Katlina who turned her attention to the voice left Alucard to deal with
Myukki.
“Moroi-chan, is that you sweetie?” Katlina said quietly, her voice full
of worry.
As she stepped around the mass of pots and pans she discovered a trail
of blood
leading to the kitchen stairway and at the footsteps sat Morina, half
conscious
and bleeding from her right arm. Standing over her in dismay was Tepes.
Immediately
Katlina ran to her
and kneeled beside her. Settling Morina’s arm in her lap, she called a
small
bag to her side. She reached inside of it and pulled out a handful of
purple
powder, spread it over Morina’s arm and chanted a healing pray. In
doing so the
wound vanished and the blood trail with it. Tepes who was fascinated by
seeing
his first healing spell ran off to read up on it.
Katlina,
who had gathered Morina
in her arms, said a cleaning spell for the kitchen as she made her way
back to
where she had left Alucard and Myukki. Alucard who had seen the look in
Katlina’s eyes dared not speak and Myukki whose blank stare had not
left him
stood with his back to Katlina. “Myukki…” Katlina whispered as she
motioned for
Alucard to take Morina upstairs. “Myukki,” she said again this time
spinning
him around to face her. ‘I didn’t think I’d ever have to use this but,’
she
thought to herself as she pulled out a crescent moon that a small cross
attached to it. ‘But I can’t have the human goddess trying to take her
life again.’
In thinking this she placed the moon on his forehead and spoke,
“Foreign devils
far to the west, they come to take her, they want her death. These
people,
these humans, they want her life. But I cast them out, out into the
night.” As
she finished the moon fused with him and became a marking on his
forehead,
protecting him from the human goddess and of her sprites as well as
keeping
them from using him as a puppet ever again.
Once
the fusing had finished
Myukki fainted. At that moment Katlina took him in her arms and carried
him to
the room where both the twins slept. Greeting Alucard at the door, she
settled
Myukki in the bed opposite of the one Morina was in. “What happened?”
Alucard
said as he wondered about the calm look on Katlina’s face. “It’s
nothing,
everything is fine now” She said as she walked towards the doorway. ‘I
guess he
really doesn’t know about any of this’ she thought as she stared into
Alucard
puzzled eyes, ‘he doesn’t know I’m a goddess, the only goddess that
doesn’t
live in the heavens.’ “You sure?” he said not knowing what really went
on.
Katlina nodded and continued out the door, ‘I’m sure it is now. Maybe
I’ll tell
him everything another time…but until then I’m not ever leaving him
alone with
the twins again.’ She thought again while sighing. “Not ever.”
Chapter 6: Into the Heavens
It
had only been a week or two
after the accident; Katlina had sent the twins to her sister Miamiana's
house.
And left Tepes and Naomi, who had returned with Alucard. She was
departing for
the heavens, that and she had sat Alucard down and told him everything.
Why she
had the twins, why Artemis and Apollo came when they were born, what
Morina was
to the vampire realm, and why Myukki was born with her. Only thing she
hadn't
told him was that she the sorcery goddess.
As
she grabbed a few of her
things Alucard came to her side. "I understand all of this now and I
know
where you're going and everything," Alucard said puzzled, "But how
can you get into the heavens? Are you special or something?" "Well,"
Katlina said while setting a bag down and walking to him, "Yes, I'm
special" "In what way?" Alucard said trying to piece it together
himself. "I'm a goddess myself." She answered him. And to show him
she transformed right in front of him. Her appearance didn't change
much just
her clothes that and now there was a marking on her forehead, plus she
had
lavender colored angelic wings. Shocked and dizzy Alucard sat down. 'I
married
a goddess' Alucard thought. He looked at her once more as she looked
back and he
fainted. Sighing Katlina gathered her things, left a note and took off
out the
nearest window.
As
she was flying over the Maho
realm, a few others joined her side, four of them, two males and two
females.
They were her sprites; almost every god or goddess had some. Sprites
are chosen
apprentices, should anything happen to the god or goddess one of them,
preferable the one who was ranked highest would take over if the god or
goddess
didn't have children that could do the same. Ranked highest was
Chikara, she is
the most spirited and the most trusted. Shogeki is ranked second, he is
a
former of the lightning goddess but has earned some trust from Katlina.
Shizuka
is ranked third, he's going to be become god of the silence in place of
the old
goddess, but is tagging along with Katlina for the time being.
Tsumibukai
ranked last, she is the bad egg hoping to make her life better by
taking in
what Katlina has to teach her. She's also currently the only demon to
become a
sprite of a non-demon. All of them are the followers of Katlina as well
as the
friends.
As
they neared the edge of the
Maho realm, Katlina shot an energy beam ahead of her. When the beam
reached the
boundary of the realm is was absorbed. Moments after a gateway opened
and they
all proceed threw it. After passing completely threw the gate it seemed
like
they were in a new world. There was clouds all around and blue skies
every
where you looked. This was the Life area of the heavens it was
currently
occupied by Artemis and Apollo being that the life goddess wasn't
present and
all sprites of the life goddess were dead. Katlina flew ahead and
signaled to
her sprites that they could do as they pleased until nightfall.
After
having them depart,
Katlina approached a castle-like building. This was where the old life
goddess,
Seibutsu resided. Apollo greeted her as she landed. "Greetings
Katlina," He said taking her hand and leading her in. Blushing madly
she
followed as her lead her. While being lead she took in the place
itself. 'It's
so filled with sadness...She must have died a horrible death." Katlina
thought when she spotted a picture of the old goddess herself. "She
did," said a sad but slightly sarcastic female voice. Startled Katlina
let
go of Apollo's hand and started to fall forward, but before she could
fall
Apollo and grabbed her. "You scared her" Apollo said while steadying
Katlina, "Must you be so creepy." Katlina looked ahead and saw a now
red faced Artemis. "How dare you!" She said balling up her fists. "I
am not creepy!" Laughing Apollo left Katlina and head for Artemis
"right, and anyone who doesn't read people's thoughts isn't?" "I
can't read people thoughts,” She said crossing her arms. "In this place
thoughts of the life goddess can be heard." Apollo just chuckled, he
knew
but he loved picking at his sister. "Why are you always picking at
me?" Artemis said starting to cry. "Are you making her cry
again?" said a deep voice with slight annoyance. Coming to stand behind
her was a man with flowy black clothes. "Well..." the man said but he
never continued, his silver eyes were set on Katlina. "Arashi?"
Artemis said twirling a bit of his long jet black hair. "Who's this?"
Arashi said as he pointed directed at Katlina. Katlina, who was
startled by his
appearance alone, didn't moved or speak.
Arashi
didn't exactly appear
friendly. He was big and sort of mean looking, what surprised Katlina
most was
that he was a demon, a hell demon. The tail gave him away, that and the
fangs.
She knew he was the storm god, in fact she knew a lot about him; where
he came
from, his violent past, and his reputation among all the other gods and
goddesses. Most weren't afraid of him but she was. Narrowing his silver
eyes,
he walked past Artemis and Apollo and came to stand in front of her.
Smiling he
took her quaking hand, "What's the matter my dear?" He said teasingly
but softly, "You'd have to be afraid of me. I'm quite harmless" When
she didn't speak he just laughed and took her into his arms. "You are
the
current care taker of my only child right?" He said whispering. Seconds
later he felt her nod. "Listen up I'd never hurt you our any of your
family, but should anything happen to my little girl the blame falls on
you.
Got that? Now act normal I can't stand it when people scared of me
especially
when they are equal in power with me." When he left her go she realized
that he was right and stopped worrying herself so much. As Arashi
walked away
he stopped and took Artemis's hand and lead her elsewhere. Apollo then
once
again took Katlina's hand. "Don't worry about him, he just looks big
and
tough he's really not so bad" He said with a warm smile. "Come I'll
lead you to your room. We'll discuss more important matters tomorrow.
Until
then unpack and enjoy yourself." With that he lead her to room and left
her to decide to do whatever. Sighing Katlina unpacked her things and
sat down
on the bed in the room. She thought about Arashi again and then Morina.
"I
hope I don't mess up...for my own sake,” She said to herself as she
laid back.
'For my own sake,' she thought again as Arashi's face flashed in her
mind
before disappearing. With that she closed her eyes and rested. She had
a lot on
her mind and the rest would do her some good. So there in that room she
stayed
until nightfall.
Chapter
7 : The Destiny of Blood
That
morning Katlina slept in, when she awoke she found herself looking into
the
watchful eyes of Arashi. "Wah!" Katlina exclaimed as she sat up and
pulled the covers up around her. "You're quite interesting to look at
while
you're asleep," Arashi noted quietly, "Especially when I can see your
choice of provocative sleep wear." As he finished a smile began to curl
on
his lips, but what came next surprised even Artemis who had walked in
at the
last second. In a flash Katlina had moved from the bed to stand beside
Arashi,
then with her fist she hit his head. "What the..." Artemis said
feeling left out. "...the hell was that for?!" Arashi said as he
rubbed his head, while knowing what he did. "Don't play dumb,"
Katlina said as her reddened face begin to turn back, "You’re such a
pervert!" And before he knew it Artemis had hit him too. "Damn,"
he said half laughing and grunting as he ran out the door with Artemis
not far behind.
Sighing Katlina closed her door, "males." Noticing the lock on the door she decided she'd lock it next time. Calling her bags she opened one of them and pulled out something to wear. After dressing herself, she headed in the direction of the voices of Arashi and Artemis. She didn't want to get lost wondering around so she stuck to this. Turning a corner she came to stop at a door way.
"Come on," Arashi complained, "It's not like I touched her! I only touch you." By then Artemis had gone to hit him again but Arashi dodged it and lifted her into the air. With her face reddened now Artemis squealed, "Put me down! Put me down!" "Are you going to hit me again?" Arashi said smiling. "N-no," Artemis murmured. With that he put her back on her feet but got slapped again anyway. "Hey," Arashi whined, "fine then." He grabbed Artemis and tried to kiss her. Giggling she turned away. Not wanting to see much more Katlina made her presence known. Stopped in the middle of the floor Artemis glanced over at Katlina, her face red with embarrassment. Following behind her Arashi took hold of Artemis, claiming the kiss he’d wanted.
“Good Morning,” Katlina said smiling brightly. Pushing the stray hairs away Artemis tried to reclaim her gracefulness but failed. Sighing she pushed Arashi away, defeated. “Good Morning,” she returned as she left the room signaling Katlina and Arashi to follow.
While walking the down one of the large hallways, they were joined by Apollo and Ikazumi who was clutching on his arms. Humming a tune Ikazumi didn’t pay anyone attention. Artemis who led the way was avoid the arms of Arashi. Up ahead
