The VP
CWN Back Shops

This Bachmann COSTCO set represents everything that is great about this hobby. I love trains. I dreamed of the day I would be running trains in the garden long before it was affordable to me. Finally the day came and the CWN was born. Suddenly I had a great, but expensive and time consuming hobby. This wasn't particularly a problem until my second child arrived. He loves trains. Poor guy takes after his Dad! The problem is that he has some unique needs. My time and resources were much better spent on him then any old toy train. The choice was easy, dump the garden railroad, make due with the boxed up N scale and focus on my son. Of course N scale trains are awfully small for the little hands of a four year old. What to do? Then, as if to answer our prayers a discussion on MyLargesScale.com broke out about an inexpense Bachmann offering at COSTCO. Could this be the answer? A set that was compatible with my stuff that could stand up to some typical child play and not break the bank? The answer from the internet was yes. The only remaining problem was that the set was not available in Canada or in any reasonable driving distance throughout the USA. Then a fellow MLS participant emailed me, not knowing my son's situation, offering to purchase and mail a set to me at cost. I was stunned and forever endebted. So now the CWN, a run down logging line, has a wonderfully shiny plastic looking executive train for the line's Vice President to run at will. It will always remain the Pride of the Line for so many reasons.

Everytime that train makes an appearance on the CWN I'm moved, moved by the joy I see in my children, moved by the thoughtfulness of others. I really don't mind if the plans I have to expand the CWN are never realized. It doesn't matter if the line never has a station built or a bridge to cross over, as long as Vice President No. 1 is in running order, all is right in the world.

Thanks Stephen
