Hi! Welcome to my collection. As of this day the collection has over 36000 items.
It is divided into eleven different collections: miniature liquors (~2500),
cigarette packets (~1400), matches boxes (~9500), miniature soaps
(like the ones in hotels bathrooms, ~800), drink mixers (~800),
ashtrays (~500), beer cans (~1200), soft drink cans (~5000),
soft drink bottles (~900), water bottles (~500), phone cards (~1600) and comics (~12000).
In the pictures below you can see a very small fraction of my collection
(as well as my brother Alfredo).
The collection started when I was 12 years old, and it has growth over the years
with the help mainly of my mother Esperanza. She has traveled all over the world
and in every trip she buys me a lot of items for my collection. We have a system of
listings so when someone in the family sees a possible collection item they can consult the
listings and see if we have it or not.
As you can imagine the collection has items from all over the world. from Bolivia to
Canada, from Mexico to Russia, and from very exotic places such as Thailand and
Egypt.
A particularity with my cans collection is the fact that although the cans are empty,
you cannot actually tell they are until you hold them in your hands. I have done this
by making a very small hole at the hidden botom of the can, I give them a good shake and
I put them in the running hot water of the sink. Physics does the rest!
