Golden Globe nominee Catherine Zeta-Jones can most recently be seen in the Steven Soderbergh directed, “Traffic.” In the film, Catherine plays the wife of a drug-runner, who is confronted with her husband’s illegal ties when he is arrested and she must fight to save her family. The cast of the critically praised film has also received a SAG award nomination for “Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture.”

The next project on the horizon for Zeta-Jones is “America Sweethearts.” The film is being directed by Joe Roth and also stars Billy Crystal, Julia Roberts and John Cusack. “America’s Sweethearts” is due in theaters in July of 2001.

In 1999, Zeta-Jones wowed audiences in two feature films. First, she was seen in the 20th Century Fox romantic-thriller “Entrapment,” starring opposite screen legend Sean Connery as an under-cover insurance investigator who sets out to trap one of the world’s greatest art thieves. The film was directed by Jon Amiel. She followed that up with DreamWorks’ psychological thriller “The Haunting.” Directed by Jan DeBont, “The Haunting” also starred Liam Neeson and Lili Taylor and enjoyed the largest DreamWorks’ feature opening to that date.

Zeta-Jones captured international recognition in the Columbia/Tri-Star action adventure film, ”The Mask of Zorro,” where she starred opposite Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins. The movie, directed by Martin Campbell, opened to strong reviews and went on to become one of the year’s biggest box-offices hits.

Born in Wales, Zeta-Jones starred in the West End production of “42nd Street” before landing a starring role in the hit Yorkshire Television series, "The Darling Buds of May,” based on the novels of H.E. Bates.

Zeta-Jones is married to actor Michael Douglas. They divide their time between New York and Los Angeles with their son Dylan Michael Douglas.
