EVALUATION IN BRITAIN

Secondary School

Matura (before 1980 from the Gimnazija/academic upper secondary course)/
Secondary School Leaving Diploma (before 1980 from a technical secondary school)
- may be considered to satisfy the general entrance requirements of British higher
education institutions.

Secondary School Leaving Diploma ( obtained since 1980) - generally considered
comparable to British BTEC National Diploma / N/SVQ level 3/ Advanced
GNVQ/GSVQ and may be considered to satisfy the general entrance requirements of
British higher education institutions.

Higher

Vise Obrazovanje (first-level degree obtained on completion of a two to three-year
course) - generally considered comparable to a standard between GCE Advanced and
British Bachelor degree; may be given advanced standing by British higher education
institutions.

Visoko Obrazovanje (second-level degree obtained on completion of a four to six-year
course) - generally considered comparable to British Bachelor (Ordinary) degree
standard; students with high grades may be considered for admission to postgraduate
study.

Magistar- generally considered comparable to British Master's degree standard.

Doktor nauka - generally considered comparable to British PhD standard.
