June 7, 2003 next day's entry
Today a group of us went into DC on the Metro.  We met at the College Park Metro station at 11 am and went in together.  It was rainy so, we ended up just going to see museums.  We went to the Air and Space Museum first and stayed there until after we ate lunch at 2 pm.  Here are some pictures from this first half of the day.  We had a good time playing with all the hands-on exhibits that were really meant for the little kids.  These first 2 pictures Amy took of me being silly... in the first one I was trying to pull this lid off of the vacuum tube... and in the second there was this little balloon with an astronaut in the basket below and the little kid was asking me how it worked so I was showing him.

At this exhibit we could test our reaction time... and of our little group, Amy was the quickest.

After lunch, we went to the Natural History Museum.  Here's a picture of Amy in front of the big elephant at the entrance to the museum.

I left this museum early to catch the metro back into College Park (it was around 4:30 or 5pm).  Mike had said he was going to come up to visit me in Maryland, but I still haven't gotten a call from him.
