Note: This entry was composed on
July 21st, not July 20th. We woke up slightly later than we had on
Saturday, but had to get up and get packed up because check-out was at 11am.
Jamie was staying Sunday night in NY as well, but was staying at a different
location because it was just him and that was cheaper. Anyway, so we
toted our luggage back to where he was going to be staying Sunday night to
leave there for the day so we didn't have to deal with it everywhere we
went.
After checking the luggage in at the hotel we ended up walking back to Au
Bon Pain and getting breakfast food for lunch. On the way, I snapped a
picture of the Empire State Building:

After 'brunch', we caught the metro out to Coney Island.
We walked the entire length of the beach twice... The weather was gorgeous
after that one rain shower on friday evening!

Crowded Coney Island beach

Less Crowded side of the beach... look carefully in the background and you
can see Verazno-Narrows Bridge (I think that's which one it is)
Around 5pm we decided to catch the metro back into the city.
We stopped to eat at a little place across the street from the Empire State
Building... it was just a little pizza place, but REALLY good prices.
I got spaghetti! :) it was really filling too.
So, after eating, we walked back to his hotel so I could
pick up my bag and then to Penn Station. We were about 45minutes
early, so we walked around little (not much actually) and then just sat down
and talked until they called for boarding my train. The train home was
a lot less crowded than the way up, and actually for most of the train ride
home, I had a seat to myself and could stretch out and nap. I got back
to Union station right at 11:30pm and to College Park a little after
midnight.
