Old Business

Keith called Jennifer,  the lady who does the web pages, and left a message for her.  He has not heard back from her and will try her again.

Don spoke to Dale regarding the Cyril Abs memorial tournament and Dale is willing to not charge a green fee.  There will be no money added if no green fee is charged.

New Business

Connie congratulated all the teams who placed in the league.  Congratulations to Almon B for finishing first and Halifax Q for placing second.

C division teams Dooly’s Spring Garden and Shannon B will play this Monday and Wednesday.  All other teams have a bye.  Brewster’s and Dave Doolittle’s tied, whoever won the most nights in regular season is the team that ranks higher.  Teams were reminded to call scores in after Wednesday night’s play.

Teams were reminded to bring annual trophies, and banquet numbers to the next meeting.  There is a charge of $15.00 for guests.  We will also be voting for most improved, most sportsmanlike, rookie of the year and most enjoyable atmosphere.

The banquet will be held at Brewster’s on October 4, 2003.  This was the only quote that was received.

Don announced that he is resigning as Vice-President.  He feels that there was no communication within the executive regarding trophies and he felt that he could have saved the league some money.  He also feels that decisions were made without discussion with the rest of the executive and he doesn’t think this is right.

Jan spoke up and said that she was the reason that Don was resigning.  Every year Jan pays for the trophies at Karen Moore’s.  Jan was on vacation and had time to select and pay for the trophies.  She knew that Connie was going away and was trying to help by giving her one less thing to do.  Connie and Jan didn’t discuss this with the rest of the executive because there has been no need to in past years.  Jan reminded everyone that the executive volunteer their time and she was only doing what we do every year with regards to selecting and paying for the trophies.

Helen said that she would like Don to stay.  There is only one meeting left and she would like to him to stay as Vice-President as he is doing a good job.  The executive agreed with Helen and asked him to stay.  Don decided to stay.

Helen said that there is a problem with the tables at Dave Doolittle’s.  The cloth is too loose and the lighting is broken.  Several other people concurred with Helen about the condition of the tables.

Don said he would speak to the owner about fixing the cloth and lights by the play offs.  If this cannot be done that an alternate venue will be chosen for the Dave Doolittle’s team when they are home.  There is precedence for this and proper table  specifications are listed in the leagues bylaws.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55.
