The meeting was called to order and the minutes from the previous meeting on June 20 were read. The minutes were passed with no objections.

Executive Reports

Public Relations – The following scores were not called in:

June 22 – Spryfield Q

June 29 – Spryfield Q

Statistician – Teams were handed out copies of the stats and asked to check for errors or omissions. The following score sheets were not faxed:

Locas B June 22 and June 29

Locas A June 22 and June 29

Treasurer – Jan has not done the deposit from the previous meeting. She apologizes and advises that the money was secured in a lock box and she simply forgot. She will make both deposits this week.

Keith will be given money to pick up trophies for the Cyril Abs tournament.

Old Business

The Cyril Abs memorial tournament is this Saturday at Spryfield Q. The club will be open at 9:30 and registration starts at 10:00am. Play will start at 11:00am.

The 4x8’s at Dooly’s Burnside are still not fixed.

The incident involving Almon A and Dooly’s Kempt is still being investigated. The staff member from Dooly’s cannot be reached.

Helen wanted to know what was being investigated. Connie advised that there were complaints about her behavior and the league wants the issue clarified. Helen said she is not denying her behavior; she was upset and admits she did curse the league.

New Business

Banquet – Please bring quotes for the banquet to the next meeting. Included in the quote should be the meal, hall rental, D.J. services and drink prices. We are aiming for early October but not Thanksgiving weekend.

There was an incident involving Dooly’s Kempt and Locas B. Dooly’s was short a player and Helen removed herself from the 1 point position to play in the empty 2 point sport. Helen was playing the last game of the first round and the first game of the second round had been started when the player showed up.

Keith and Jennifer incorrectly advised that once the second round has started a player couldn’t be added. Upon review by Dale and Connie it was decided that the actual rule is that as long as the first round is not over a player can be added. Since Helen was still playing in the first round she should have been allowed to add the player to the 1-point position.

Two options to resolve this situation were presented: Let the scores stand as they are or split the points.

Dooly’s Kempt opted to split the points so they will be awarded 2 additional points and Locas’s B will lose 2 points.

We will be voting on Most Sportsmanlike player and most enjoyable atmosphere at the next meeting. For the next meeting please bring one nomination from your team and ONE nomination from the rest of the league for a total of two nominees for most sportsmanlike. Also please bring your choice for most enjoyable atmosphere.

Playoff rosters will be handed out at the next meeting.
