The Club:

According to legend, two genki football-mad Britons entered a bar in Sendai one cool October evening in 1992. Many drunken hours later they had managed to form the core of a formidable looking footie squad. Over the next 13 years the club has had over 400 players, both male and female representing more than 20 different nations. The club has played games in not just Sendai and Miyagi but also in far flung places such as Nagano and Tochigi.

Currently there are over 70 active players who enjoy both 11 a-side and 5 a-side (futtosaru) games. These games are usually friendly but the club has entered more serious games, competitions and leagues.  The club's emphasis is always on fun and international friendship.  Although we do try to win we have had more glorious defeats than famous victories.  MUFCs uniform is sponsored by SHAFT (www.clubshaft.com).

The club is registered with KIRIN Sports Club and Izumi Park Town Futtosaru Club.  The club is also registered with the M-net as a volunteer group and both the Miyagi and Sendai International Associations.

The Founders:

The club was founded by Julian Carl Crocker and Chris Doran, both from England.  In 1996 Chris moved to Canada and in June 2002 during the Korea/Japan World Cup, Julian retired as the manager.  Dominic Jones, also from England, became the new manager of the club and in May 2005 Craig Allender from Australia was charged with continuing the club's on pitch success and international friendship ideals.
