Kagome's Story...

Higurashi Kagome was a 15 years old girl living in an ancient shrine in the middle of modern Tokyo. She lives with her mother, brother (Souta), her grandfather, and a fat cat named Buyo. On the morning of her 15th birthday, she was dragged into the ancient well on the shrine ground by a centipede demon. The demon ripped open her flesh and devoured a jewel that was a part of her body, the Shikon no Tama, or the Jewel of Four Souls.

The well was a connection to a time period from 500 years ago, the Sengoku Jidai, or warring era. There Kagome met an old miko (Priestess) named Kaede who told her that she looked just like Kaede's older sister, Kikyo, who died 50 years ago. Kagome was Kikyo's reincarnation. In order to save both herself and Kaede's village from the centipede demon, Kagome freed a dog hanyou named Inuyasha, who was sealed away on a 1000 year old tree, the Goshinboku, by Kikyo, 50 years ago.

Inuyasha killed the demon, but wanted the jewel as well. After a nicely put subdue spell, Kagome was able to control Inuyasha. But an accident caused Kagome to destroy the jewel, spitting it into thousands of pieces and were scattered through the land. It was up to Inuyasha and Kagome to collect the pieces of the jewel before they fall into the wrong hands.

With some help from a perverted monk, a demon exterminator, and an orphaned fox demon, the team ventured on and their adventures are filled with love, courage, pain, and sadness. An old secret will be revealed about Kikyo's death. The identity of a common enemy will come to light. And Higuashi Kagome's life will never be the same.
