So, What did Sauron look like then?
The question has plagued us Tolkien fans from  the beginning's in the Shire to the destruction of Barad-Dur at the end.....

Obviously, I did some research for you.....
I started off with what I knew...... The lidless one had an eye.

aye, and not an eye alone (excuse the most horrendous of puns there....) he also had...... a hand!!!

Yes....an eye and a hand. Not much to start with....but I travelled off to London, to the vaults of the Tolkien society to do some digging.
It just so happened that I was sitting in a dusty corner of the society's library, leafing through 'the Elven chronicles' * , when an old man stumbled up to me.
He was clad in robes and a pointy hat.

"mj me lad...." he whispered with a voice hoarse on cheap whiskey, "you search for 'the picture'!!!!" he said.....

as he murmered 'the picture', the lights faded and a low creaking could be heard. He ushered me to follow him. Obviously I did.

He asked me to take down a large, leather bound book. Gold letters inscripted the words: "The Maia chronicles" *

He took it from me with greedy, grubby, liver marked hands and the book opened on a page with two pictures.
Yes....The only two pictures of Sauron the Maia....The lidless one!!!!

I shook in fear and anticipation......
* Tolkien memoires unreleased because of their graphic and very 18+ rating....
The first picture was the hand. The hand before it was mutulated. The hand in all it's glory......The hand as seen through mists of magic and basically an x-ray machine.
The 'Maia chronicles' went on to tell of pure evil and hatred of having lost his finger.....

The manic putred of polymorphing and coagulation that erupted like an ever boiling boil over the centuries.....

The fusion of body parts, mental and physical.....resulting from years and years of light deprevation and a severe lack of vitamin C......

The Lidless one's appearance was revealed!!!
It is a well known fact that the makers of 'the Adam's family' were well educated in the works of Tolkien.

Seemingly Sauron was supposed to have crawled along on his fingers.....
or limped as the case may be.

No wonder he lost the war of the rings.
