This is my 1982 Mazda RX-7 GXL. My friend Robert Hoffman found it for me in Gainesville. I towed it back here to my shop. It ran and drove fine when I bought it, but after it got hot, it would catch on fire. I test drove it a couple of times, but made sure to keep them short to avoid a mishap. :)

I washed off all of the burn marks from the cars leaky gas tank fire incident. I left the stickers for posterity. :)

With the exception of the roof and the rear by the window, the car is in pretty good shape. It spent most of it's life covered in oil...

I still think it looks cool.

The tire came off for one of the previous owners while driving on the interstate.

Drivers side rear.

When I got the car, the sunroof was fiberglassed shut. I should have left it that way, but I just had to see how bad it was. I was thinking of cutting off the whole top and making it a convertible.

You have probably been unimpressed up until this point. That's a 12A with a street port and the stock Nikki carb. Sadly, the Nikki led the motor to it's demise as it couldn't dump enough fuel. There is no compression on 2 of the 3 chambers on the front rotor. I fear I blew an Apex seal. It's Grabber Green in case you were wondering. ;)
He will run again...
