CLIMBING

LINKS

Training for this trip began back in Berkeley, CA. I made weekly trips to Lake Tahoe and climbed the Donner Summit routes.

Clipping in on Captain Cheesedog (5.9) at Indian Springs in Lake Tahoe.

In Yosemite, Dave and I stuck mostly to Tuolumne Meadows. Due to its high altitude, it was very comfortable in the summer compared to Yosemite Valley. Since it was our first trip to Yosemite, we were not too aggresive, but did have some fun climbing 2 of the 50 classic climbs of North America, Cathedral Peak and Regular Route on Fairview Dome.

I look like a geek, but I was pretty excited about completing the 7th pitch of Regular Route (5.9) on Fairview Dome.

From the tops of the Domes, you could get breathtaking views of Yosemite. For the week and a half we spent at Yosemite, Dave and I knew we had to return here someday to finish some climbs we wanted to do.
