Captain's Duties

1.  Collect and maintain an accurate phone list.  Let a convener know if this information changes.  (This should already be done.)

 2.  Collect money from players.  (Please do this ASAP!)

3.  Let your teams know the rules of MLSB 2003.  (These are enclosed.)

4.  Keep your team pumped up and motivated throughout the season – especially at tournaments.

5.  Keep an eye on the MLSB 2003 bulletin board and website for any league events/schedule changes and let your team know of these changes.

6.  If the weather is questionable (rainy, overcast, etc.), check the bulletin board to see if the games are on or off.  There should also be a convener around to let you know.

7.  Attend all games and tournaments.  If you cannot make a game or tournament (which you shouldn’t), arrange for a substitute captain, if possible (otherwise, ensure that someone from the team takes care of the equipment).

8.  Early game HOME team captains (11:45am) pick up the equipment at 115 Albert on the back porch (Blair's house).

9.  Late game HOME team captains (1:45pm) return the equipment to 115 Albert on the back porch (Blair's house).

10.  Both captains will umpire their team’s regular season league play.  Keep in mind, these games are meant to be FUN!  Both captains will resolve any disputes between their teams during regular season league play.  (There will be a set of rules in the equipment bag at all times.)

11.  The winning team captain must report the score and any home runs to Sam Conradi (886-0688) after each game.  This is important, as the results will be posted online, and on the bulletin board.  (Teams are given 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss.)

12.  VISIT SPONSORS AS FREQUENTLY AS POSSIBLE – THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!  Sponsors donate money so that our league can operate; in turn, we must thank them by visiting their establishments as much as we can.

13.  Act as an administrator for the MLSB 2003 Receipt Program.  The team that accumulates the most money from visiting sponsors will get a GOOD reward at the end of the summer!

14.  Attend all meetings held by the conveners.  These meetings will be held every Wednesday evening from 5:30 – 6:30pm at 49 Ezra Ave.  If you are unable to make a meeting, contact a convener in advance so that alternate arrangements can be made.

15.  Act in a diligent, professional manner by exercising good judgment at all times.  You are representing our league.

16.  HAVE A GOOD TIME!
