. . . ESC is located in a small village of a 100 houses outside of Chiangmai. Since three years is has been the 'cultural center' of this small community. Our first audience for any activities are mainly villagers in our valley, and from Chiangmai, sometimes Bangkok.

Why Chiangmai:

First touch in Silence. ... off the beaten track.
A need to add meeting place away from attention of the international cultural community in Bangkok. Better to invite artists into their own area

We are located in the relative center of regions which share many traditions - Lanna, Burma, Yunnan, Laos, Vietnam. We want to focus on an intra -cultural program with international opening - International here means Bangkok, - Singapore, - Hongkong.

We want to develop a destination for artists in the Mekong Region in Chiangmai on a very grassroots level.

Artcenter's History ESC is a development of ArtHouse Bona. ESC - is a process oriented Art Center. You are invited to paint, study, write, workshop or rehearse here. We are open for all faculties of the arts. We encourage self-expression and interaction with the surrounding community. We can guide our guest to cultural sites and introduce them to artists in Bangkok.
