Why I am for LIFE....
This page isn't going to be a big fight or campaign to shout it down someone's throat as to why I make this choice, it's just a page to let you know why I think life is a wonderful and good choice. You see, I am the result of a very unexpected pregnancy. My mom was only 15 when I was concieved back in 1972, and back then it was a bit more taboo than these days.
I know it was hard on my mom....she dropped out of school in her junior year because of her pregnancy (but later did recieve her G.E.D. and has since been an E.M.T., home care nurse and other medical professions. :) and being that she was so young had to depend a lot on family support. I think many people know a young girl who is in or was in the same situation now.
The thing is, if she'd taken the advice of so many people around her, I wouldn't be here today. I would never have known my momma, grandpa, aunts, uncles or cousins....best friends, husband or children. You see, people are affected by people they meet every day. What if your best friend in high school had not been there simply because their parents chose not to have them? What about your favorite cousin? Your spouse? What if you had never gotten to know them simply because of a choice to kill that life before it had a chance to be known?
Life is not a "choice" it's faith, no matter who you are or what your beliefs. It takes faith of some sort, somewhere in your head to know you can get out of that bed and take a step that morning. My faith is in God. For it was with His grace that I was given the chance to live my life. I'm so glad that my mom listened to Him and not the other people around her. If I hadn't been born, I wouldn't be the older sister to my siblings! (what would they do without me? :)
I don't understand how someone can take something so precious and give up on it. I don't want any one to feel bad who has aborted a baby. I'm not a judge or jury, just a personal opinion. There are SO many couples in this world who are trying so hard to have babies. Some it takes years, maybe a decade even, others may never concieve. For me its' taken a year each time to get pregnant with my babies, and after those first few months pass, it really starts to hurt. Especially when you see stories of people who treat their children badly.
Some people blame it on medical problems, but medical science is amazing these days. There are so many things that can be done. and so many times the Dr.s are wrong with the results of some of these prenatal tests! I've heard case after case of Dr.s telling the parents something was dreadfully wrong with the baby, only to have a perfectly normal and healthy child come! Do you even know what involves a late term abortion? The baby is birthed (yes, birthed) all but it's head, at which time the Dr. will cut a hole in the base of the babies skull (can you imagine how painful this is??????) then they proceed to SUCK OUT the babies brain, there fore killing the baby. Would you want to go through this? When a child knows only that they want to be loved and held, to have such a tragedy overcome them?? It's monsterous!
There are other choices for the baby. If you think another family could do a better job, then, let someone adopt them. My little sister was put up for adoption since my mom knew she wouldn't be able to give her the care she needed at the time. The thing is, she's ALIVE and we now get to talk and have gotten to meet several times. It's great having her.
I've also got my brother, who's 13 years younger than me. We get along most of the time. :) None of my mom's pregnancies were planned, and I'm not saying she doesn't wish that she could have had us at "better" times, but the fact is we came when we came and she had us.
Now I could have been one of those down-trodden souls complaining about "boo-hoo, i never knew my dad so I'm going to make it an excuse to be a lousy person", "boo-hoo, I was an 'accident'" SO WHAT! I make my life what i want it to be and I wanted a good life. I'm thankful for all that i have. God has done wonderful things in my life and I wouldn't trade them.
Give your child a chance to be who they were meant to be. Raise them in Love and you will have a blessing you'll never regret. No child is always a bowl of roses (I've got my own to know that. :) but every child has love to give. They just need your love to start them out. Life is a mixture of hugs and cries. It's what makes us human. Experience it for the best. And another thing, if you don't think you can handle the responsibility, dont do anything to bring it about. Abstinence is a wonderful thing. Don't let someone pressure you into something you don't want to do. You miss out on a LOT of emotional stress and worries if you wait til your married.
Just think of all the people who may not be here. Those that mean so much to you, if their parents had made a different choice. Life, it's so precious.

Have you seen the amazing photo above? Be sure to check out the site and read the miraculous story of Samuel. The tiny hand of a baby in the mother's womb during a life saving surgery for him. He instinctively grabbed the hand of the Dr. as they were preparing him. How precious.
