Working with the Big Stuff...

This is a page for my husband Robert. He works with heavy machinery and big rigs. He works for Hampton Crane, a company out of Nashville, TN that takes care of moving everything from hospital cat scan machines to presses for any company you can think of. He loves what he does, he likes telling me the different things they do, and what they have to go through to get a press set right and things like that.

You can see in this picture how small the people are compared to the machine, they are standing on it there in the middle!

They have to be very precise when setting these up, or they won't run right and they'd have to redo it.

This is another show of the size of the things they work with. They drive the trucks in the second picture. This was from a job they did up in Iowa a couple of months ago.

The first is a picture of the crate being loaded on a barge. the second is a picture of his friend Clay standing in front of one of the pieces to the machine they were working on.

This is one of the pits that one of the machines had to sit in. notice the ladder at the far end of it. it's hard to imagine for me that a piece of machinery can be so large to need this much extra room just so the workers can get to the part they need to operate it!
