| Spaghetti Pie | |||||||||||||||||||||
| The original recipie for this dish can be found in The Better Homes and Gardens New Dieters Cookbook. My friend Becky gave me the recipie from it and I kinda exaggerated on it. :) This is the one I use...not the one from the book. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| What you'll need..... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| about 6 ounces
of spaghetti broken into about 1inch pieces 1 Tbs margarine 1 egg 1/4 cup parmesean non-stick spray 1+ cup of cottage cheese 1 pound hamburger 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1 clove minced garlic 1-8 ounce can of tomato sauce 1 tsp oregano 1+ cup mozerella |
|||||||||||||||||||||
| Now to cooking...... | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Cook spaghetti
til done. Drain well and add margarine, egg and parmasean
and mix well. (should be slightly sticky and thick) spray two 9inch pie shells. Press the spaghetti mixture into each one, forming a "pie crust". divide the cottage cheese between the two and spread over the "crust". In skillet cook hamburger, onion, green pepper, garlic and oregano. Drain well. Stir in tomato sauce. Spread this over the cottage cheese. Sprinkle mozzerella over the two pies and bake for about 20 minutes at 350 degrees, or til lightly browned and bubbly. each pie can be cut into 6 pieces. |

| Enjoy!!! Please feel free to add or delete items for your own recipie. This is my family's favorite every time. Just make sure to drain things well, or else it won't firm up and will be very "saucy" . :) You can also garnish it with some parsley flakes when it comes out of the oven. |

| If you want to make only one pie, you can cut the spaghetti to only 4 ounces, and the cottage cheese to less and the mozzerella to 1/2 cup. The crust will be thicker than when making two pies. This is in the original recipie. | |||||||||||||||||||||
