My decision to start cloth diapering Gavin came when i was thinking about just how expensive regular disposables could be on us. i knew we would be facing times of tight money, just like we did with the other kids, so i wanted to do what i could to help out with the cost of things.

Back when i had canaan, we'd been given a dozen prefolds and a diaper pail by my aunt and uncle, but they were used as burp towels and a trashcan up til this point. Researching what i could, i discovered that the world of cloth diapering is not what it used to be! no longer do you have to mess with pins and plastic pull up pants (if you dont want to) the ease of velcro and snaps have simplified the process. no more stuck fingers or babies! and diaper wraps have eliminated the pull on method (if you prefer) there are also All-in-one diapers. yes folks, these amazing things are effective like a disposable....no extra covers or such, just put it on baby and go! very nice. ;)

now along with all this there are of course the health benefits of cloth diapering. no worries about what's in the huggies or pampers to make junior get an icky ol diaper rash! i know a lot of babies out there are allergic to regular diaper brands, why not try them out in cloth for awhile and see how they do? :)

there's also the environment issue, less waste, less feces in the dumps to spread horrible viruses, etc. but i can't really 'preach' on these, cause i do use disposables when we head out and at night. (gotta love convienience) but i know it is important. so at least i know i'm cutting back tremendously on what waste heads out of our home during our diapering years now.

i must admit that babies do look awfully cute in the little cotton bottoms too. ;) i may do an extra 2 loads of wash a week, but heck, with 3 kids, what's the big deal in that???? LOL!

i've got a page of links for you to check out if your interested, lots of stuff to go through, and not even half of what's out there! enjoy and if you have any questions i'll try and help. :)
