Tue 24 Aug 1999 19:30 PDT UP	Lompoc, CA Street running on "H" Avenue Westbound

SP 7xxx, 7xxx Two EMD locos

Caboose "Railroad Police"

We were on our way to see my sister-in-law perform with her band when this train crossed on the street tracks at "H" Avenue in Lompoc. I couldn't chase or get complete details.

Tue 24 Aug 1999	South of Salinas, CA Along Route 101

We spotted this train heading northbound on the opposite ridge heading into a tunnel while we were driving southbound on Route 101. The train was led by a UP loco and two SPs, followed by a long string of either black tank or hopper cars.

We were a quite a distance a way so details are scare but it was very impressive to see.

Sun 22 Aug 1999	Salinas, CA Along Route 101

A southbound UP intermodal train with approximately 40 well cars. We were travelling northbound at highway speed and it was dark so details are limited. This was my first spotting of a UP freight.

I caught glimpses of two other intermodals on this line during the next couple of days and heard numerous whistles from our motel.
