Senior Auditions
Solo:  "April Is In My Mistress' Face", by Thomas Morley Edited by Kenneth Churchill Bourne Co., New York - Music Publisher

Sight Reading: The example will be in a comfortable range for each voice part. It will be in a major key, in 4/4 time. It will begin and end on the tonic. It will consist of scalar motion and triadic leaps. Rhythms may include whole, half, quarter and eighth notes, as well as dotted quarter/eighth combinations. Examples are posted below. Students will be given starting pitch and time to look at the example. All methods of sight singing are to be accepted; solfege, numbers, neutral syllable, etc.  

Scales: Nine Note do-re-do scales. Suggested scales to be used in "A" & "B" rooms: Soprano I: F. Soprano II: D. Alto: Bb. Tenor: E. Bass: C. Adjudicators give triad (tonality) and starting pitch, as well as a metronome click of quarter note = 100. Student initiates start.

Female tenors will not be permitted to audition.

There are no Double Voice Auditions.

Junior Auditions
Girls:  "Dona Nobis Pacem" (Traditional round; edited by Jan Harmon) performed with CD of other parts. Music in various keys are posted below.
Boys: Alleluia by Mozart to be performed as a round with the recording (please use the downloads provided below - CDs will not be burned). Pick the key that best suits your singer. The round should be sung once through with the recording providing the first voice. The auditioner enters at bar 5 and completes the round.

For Dona Nobis Pacem: Rounds for Females have been recorded in several different keys - please pick a key that corresponds to the voice part that you will audition on. This is the recording that will be used in your audition. The round is to be sung once through with the recorded voice as the first phrase of the round (student starts at bar 9 and completes entire round once).
