Who can be members!
1. REGULAR MEMBER- The members of the Society shall be physicians duly licensed to practice Medicine in the Philippines, who are members of their respective district chapter and whose names have been entered in the roster of members of the Society.
1.2 A regular member to be considered active and in good standing shall

1. A member of the Society shall be classified by the Board of Trustees upon favorable recommendation of the Committee on Membership and Fellowship and attested by the Chapter Councilor

3. An INACTIVE MEMBER is any member not in good standing either by delinquincy and/or noncompliance with the required CME units, or other causes short of those provided under ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP. After due process he shall be considered an inactive member. The Board will approve his/her re-instatement to active membership after favorable recommendation of the Committee on Membership and Fellowship attested by the Chapter Councilor.
1. Membership in the MMS shall be through the District Chapter which corresponds to the four (4) Medical Districts of the Manila Medical Society. The assignment of the member to a Medical District shall be based on the location of the residence or office of practice of the members concerned provided he has stayed in the area for a year prior to his application.
1.1 Membership in any Medical District shall not be more than the statistical number of physicians residing or practicing in the area.
Any member may be allowed to transfer membership from one district chapter to another only be reason of transfer of residence and/or place of practice and after the approval of the Board of Trustees though favorable recomendation of the Committe on Membership and Fellowship and the Chapter Councilor of his/her original District Chapter.

2. Upon recommendation by the Board, termination of any member from the Society shall take effect only upon the affirmative vote of at least three-fourths (3/4) of those members present in a general meeting. The member shall be placed in preventive suspension until the date of the general meeting.
The membership fees or dues shall cover a period of one (1) year from the 1st day of June of the current year up to the last day of May of the succeeding year.

CLASSIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP
1.1 A duly registered physician of Filipino citizenship residing and/or practicing in Manila and not yet a member of any component Society of the Philippine Medical Association after the approval of his/her application by the Board of Trustees of this Society upon favorable recommendation by the Committee on Membership and Fellowship, and Chapter Councilor of place of residence and/or practice of the applicant and after the payment of the corresponding annual dues of the PMA and the MMS.
1.2.1 Pay all national and local annual dues as well as assessment thaat may be imposed by the authorized bodies of the PMA and MMS only through the Manila Medical Society;
1.2.2 Comply with the requirements of Continuing Medical Education Program with regards to attendance or participation in Scientific activities of the Society and the Philippine Medical Association.2.1 Emeritus member status may be conferred by the Board of Trustees upon any member of the Society, who;

2.1.2 reached the age of 65 years, and who
2.1.3 has been a member of good standing for fifteen (15) years of more duly certified by the Committee on Membership and Fellowship and corresponding Chapter Councilor.2.2.1 He shall be exempted from paying the local dues, special assessment and convention fees.
He shall be entitled to all the rights and provoleges of a regular member. 3.1 A Life member is any regular member who contributed to the Society any amount equivalent to the sum total of 15 years of the current local dues in support to the Scoeity to further accomplish its aims and objectives and shall be exempted from paying the local dues, but shall continue to pay the PMA dues and any special assessment that may be imposed.(temporarily on hold till 2007)
4.1 Are physicians who are not qualified to be regular members but who have distinguished themselves in their field of endeavor and whom the Manila Medical Society wishes to honor. They shall be nominated through the Chapter Councilor, or any member of the Board of Trustees and approved by the the Board of Trustees.
STATUS OF MEMBERSHIP
Paid all national and local annual dues as well as assessment that may be imposed by the authorized bodies of the PMA and the MMS and has complied with the requirements of Continuing Medical Education Program with regards to the attendance in Scientific Activities of the Society and the PMA.

1.1 revocation of Physician's licence by the PRC
