May 1998
In a move that seems more like rumor than fact, AMs drummer Jeremy Korn jumps ship to play bass in punk rock band. This leads one to wonder if the AMs will call it quits before their last concert. The AMs future may be in dire straits if Korn leaves for good. At their last practice Korn expressed some displeasure with how AMs bassist Cory Spanier bossed him around.

Early April 1998
The AMs get together in Avon to jam. They decide to put off any concerts this spring much to the dismay of their fans. They tenatively plan to regroup in the summer and return to Morris for a fall concert.

December 5, 1997
Played Battle of the Bands at the University of St. Thomas after a five month hiatus. The AMs shocked the audience by being so pure, simple and short. The one highlight of the evening was Domo, who two months later would be skyrocketed to fame on the Late Night with Conan O'Brian Show. Sadly the AMs were outmatched by armies of guitars, effects pedals, and keyboards.

November 1997
The AMs plan their return with a few practices and two new songs.
