One of my poems has been accepted by silent actor. It can be viewed there or one can purchase the print version of the magazine through Lulu.

After thinking the whole enterprise folded after they accepted my work, it does look like Lachryma: Modern Songs of Lament is going to be published. They accepted my sequence "Concurrences." You can go here for more details; the print version is available in October.

Another poem, "The Game On," has been accepted at Cadenza Magazine. I sent this sucker out nearly a year ago! Have no idea when it should see the light of day.

Have also collected a few rejections since the last post. One even included a through critique (in the sense of positive, helpful suggestions) of one of my poems. When I was younger, such a thing would piss me off. But I see some very good points here and may revise the poem with those suggestions in mind.

The "rejection" that bugs me most is the nice form letter and email (double whammy) from Tupelo Press for my book Wrestling Light. I'm not mad at them, or even mad, just disappointed that my book didn't even make the finals of their first book competition. I don't send much out to competitions because of the time and expense, so I guess I deceived myself into believing I had a legitimate shot. They do publish some fine work, so like I said, so I hope my notes here don't discourage anyone.

Yesterday, I started a little writing on a novel that has been bouncing around in my head for a year or more. Mainly, I am jotting down whatever comes to mind to see if anything worth pursuing will come up. We'll see.
