Has been rather hectic for the Morris clan, Royse City branch. Here you see Max going through the obstacle course backwards at Webelos Woods. We did have quite a bit of fun that weekend despite the camping out thing. Max works on his Readyman and Athlete badges, and I didn't completely embarrass myself putting up the tent with him. Did miss my C-Pap machine. I'm sure my snoring was an advertisement for the whole den.

Monday before last Grandpa and Uncle Todd took the kids to the State Fair. Highlight for the twins was the Jonas Brothers concert. Highlight for Max was the car show. Highlight for Alex was coming home and going to choir rehearsal and getting away from her siblings. Highlight for Tonya and I was the house to ourselves.

That weekend Michaela's team had a bye and Alex's team tied 3-3 in what I hear was a very exciting game. The next week Alex's game was rescheduled, and Michaela's team took a loss (don't know the score--wasn't pretty, but the other team were pretty good sports and the Tornados played hard). This weekend the Tornado play the Magic and RC United play both Saturday (American Girls) and Sunday (Wildcats95). Looks to be pretty busy.

We have had the kind of stuff in the past few weeks that make one superstitious. I'm afraid to ask if things can get worse because they do. Don't really want to get into it here, but you guys know the number or email. Let's just say that crappy report cards aren't the worse things that can happen at school and a flat tire isn't the worst thing to happen to a car and a rainstorm isn't the worse thing to happen to electricity.

Did read in Thomas Merton's The Wisdom of the Desert: Sayings from the Desert Fathers, that one should hate an easy life and vainglory. Can't say I argue with that idea that shoots me hard, but can't say I enjoyed reading it either!
