My camera is at the pawnshop, so I don't have anything new to add here. This is from something I found on the web. Max loves it and made a flair (some facebook doohickey) of it. If you have the facebook, then I'm sure he'd be happy to send it to ya.

Last weekend was the big fourth o' July blowout at John and Kaye's. Much fun. There was food -- like anyone would go hungry with so many meat grillers around--and lots of horsing around (all games of which I lost mightily). There was something like a basketball game in that there was a hoop and a ball and me looking rather foolish. D0nnie and Michaela beat Bryan, Christina and I when John subbed himself in and scored the winning basket. Mom frequently said that we cheat at basketball. Since I lost, I'm sure she is right.

Met the boyfriend of my niece and his family. Very nice people. Even good sports at the basketball thing. Got to play with my little nephews. Was gonna eat Blake, but he would not let me.

Anywho, then we went to the fireworks thing in Mineola. That was pretty cool, even if it was hot outside. We ate some watermelon and went ooh and ahh. When we returned home, we blew up some fireworks of our own. I know John and Brett and Donnie has some new stuff, but I think pretty much everyone had some other explosives that we had been saving from three years of drought and burn bans.

Got home around 1:3o in the morning. Kids and Tonya went to bed. I tried and failed to fix my C-PAP machine. Next day we were all slugs. I did sign up for Twitter at Donnie's suggestion, so now I have something new to be addicted to.

Been working on the book/stories and my syllabus for my two Comp I classes that start Wednesday. Started reading my Walter Mosely books.

Speaking of books and blogs, I signed myself up for Amazon Associates, and so I'm going to try to update Monk Notes more often. Usually I write about three or so books I've read in a month and three or more albums I have been listening to. But I will try (no promises) to post something each time I read/listen/watch something. If you haven't signed up to get my feed for updates, you might want to do that.

I suppose that is about it for now. Angela comes back from her "vacation" later today and Tonya is gone at jury duty, so it is just me and the kids and the computer. Time to crack a whip.
