About 600 persons met with hoary death in the highways and other roads in the State of Kerala every year. Often the victims are seldom taken to the hospital in time and death occurs before expert medical attention is made available.  The governmental authorities have no set up to provide transportation facilities to accident victims.

Rotary Accident Helpline Project is a prestigious project for helping Road Accident victims on National and State Highways get immediate attention within the golden hour in well equipped Trauma Care Centres. A number of trauama care booths equipped with ambulances and round the clock para-medical support have come up on the National Highway 47 at  in Tamil Nadu and on State Highway at locations like Kanjikode, Malappuram, Calicut and Quilandy.

The helpline at present stops at Vyttila, Ernakulam in the State of Kerala within ROtary District 3200. The attempt is to extend the line through the entire length of NH 47 passing through Rotary District 3200.

The Rotary Club of Alleppey East to provide a trauma care booth at Alleppey by the side of NH 47. The total project cost for the Club is Rs. 5,00,000.
