Molly and Marissa sat in front of Molly’s computer, surfing the Newsie web. "Look" Marissa squealed happily. "It’s a picture with all of them in it!" She pointed excitedly. "You’re right!" Molly confirmed. "I think that’s all of them! There’s Spot, Jack Davie, Blink, Mush, Racetrack," she started listing. "Uh Molly…" Marissa started. "And Itey, Bumlets, Skittery, Specs, Pie Eater, Dutchy, Snipeshooter…" she continued naming. "Molly!!" Marissa yelled trying to obtain her attention. "And, oh! There’s Snoddy, Swifty, Boots and…" Molly continued. "DAMNIT MOLLY!! SHUT UP!!" Marissa screamed at the top of her lungs. Molly looked at her surprised. "What?" she asked looking at Marissa oddly. "I think I know who the newsies are!" Marissa informed her looking a little irritated. Molly smiled at her sheepishly. "Oh, yeah, sorry. I just got a little wrapped up and excited," Molly told her. "That’s okay," Marissa assured her. "I sorta lose myself when I see them too. Boy, does Davie look hott, there! I just want to get on him and do those things that you’re not supposed to tell people about!" Molly looked at her like she was crazy. "You look at all those extremely nice looking boys and all you can think about is DAVIE?!" she asked laughing. "Hey! Be quiet!! He’s a sexy boy!" Marissa claimed, glaring. "Whatever!" Molly said rolling her eyes. "I’m going to set this as my wallpaper. It’s much too perfect to not use." "There," Marissa said smiling when it was all set. "It’s perfect!" "Yeah, it is!!" Molly exclaimed happily. "It’s weird how life-like the picture is! It’s really sharp for being enlarged so much," she observed. Marissa looked at the wallpaper and turned pale white. She started backing away quickly. Molly observed her facial expression and looked at her, concerned. "What’s wrong with you?" she asked Marissa. Marissa didn’t say anything and her eyes remained focused on the computer. Molly, really getting scared, said, "C’mon Marissa! You’re really freaking me out now!" Marissa, unable to speak, pointed at the computer and mumbled some unintelligible babbling. Molly, more confused than ever, started to turn around but before she could make it 180 degrees she was pushed to the floor by something that remained on top of her. Molly, not knowing what it was, screamed loudly and attempted to get up. Sliding from underneath the attacking object she scrambled over to where Marissa was standing, and turned around. To both Molly and Marissa’s surprise Jack Kelly was laying on the floor looking extremely disoriented. Molly’s gaze flicked to the computer where she noticed Spot was getting larger on her computer screen. "What the hell?" she wondered in amazement. "Dat’s what I’d like ta know," Jack groaned, sitting up. He finally had struggled to his feet when Spot fell on top of him. "OW!" Jack and Spot both whined. The other newsies were getting bigger, faster. Race, Blink and Mush shot out one after the other with Itey following closely. Molly snapped out of her stupor long enough to say," I better turn of the computer before the rest of them get out!" running over to the computer. "Wait! What about Davie!" Marissa pointed out. "Good point! Better unplug it, too" Molly decided. But, before she could, Davie exploded from the computer, landing on the group of boys on the floor. "Damnit! OW!" Jack whined from the bottom of the pile. The newsies carefully untangled themselves, looking sore and bewildered. Molly had to laugh at the cute faces they made, looking around the room. Marissa began soon after. Spot glared at them. "What’s so funny?" he asked. "Uh…you’re what’s so funny! All of you!" Molly told them. "Ain’t nobody allowed ta laugh at me!" Spot declared. "What are you going to do about it?" Molly asked smiling. "I believe this is my house." Davie suddenly said, "Jaaack! My daddy told me not to talk to strangers! And to never go into a stranger’s house!" "Stop yer whinin’, Davie," Jack commanded. "Doesn’t anyone else find it at all odd dat we jest popped inta dis house?" Racetrack asked, confused. "I find it extremely odd…being that it’s my house and all," Molly stated. "I gotta go home! I gotta go home and get away from here!" Davie shouted frantically. "NO STRANGERS! DADDY WILL BE MAD!!" Everyone looked at Davie oddly. Marissa, seeing her chance to talk to him, walked up and stuck out her hand. "Hi, I’m Marissa! Now we don’t have to be strangers anymore!" she said, brightly. Davie looked at her suspiciously but eventually shook her hand, saying, "Well…okay. I guess your right…but what about her?" he asked indicating Molly. "Isn’t this her house?" Molly smirked. "If I don’t tell you my name then you’ll have to leave right?" Davie, not understanding the question, said, "Yeah, ‘cause my daddy doesn’t like me to go to stranger’s houses…" "Okay, in that case, I refuse to give you my name," Molly decided directing her attention to the other boys. All the newsies laughed when Molly said that, since they didn’t really like Davie all that much either. Davie’s face immediately crumbled into a pout. Marissa, still wanting a chance with him, said "Her name is Molly. She’s just playing with you," and glared at Molly. Davie, shocked at finding someone who was actually nice to him, immediately latched onto Marissa and refused to leave her side. "Soo…this is extremely odd and awkward…" Molly said. The rest of the newsies nodded in agreement. "So, I guess I might as well introduce myself, since it’s obvious Davie is staying. Yeah, my name is Molly. I already know all of you so don’t bother introducing yourselves…but umm can you tell me how you got here…or how long you’re staying…or something?" she asked. "Well, uhh…I don’t know how I got here. We were all at a party together, talking and having fun and all the sudden I jest felt dis pullin’ an’ ended up on top of ya," Jack explained as well as he could. "Dat ain’t fair. You got ta land on top of a goil an’ I had ta land in a pile a you’se guys?" Racetrack asked. Molly laughed. "So, uhh I don’t supposed you guys know when your going back or whatever…" "What? How are supposed ta know dat? We don’t even know wheah we are!" Spot told her. "All right, you’re right. Okay, listen up everyone, you’re in Ohio about one hundred years into the future," Molly informed them. She tried to go on but Racetrack asked, "How do ya know where we’re from an’ who we are?" "Oh, that’s easy to explain! I’m a newsie fanatic! I have been watching your movie for YEARS!" she told them. "I really can’t believe I’m meeting you!" They all looked at her like she was crazy. "Wait, so let me get dis straight. Dey made a flickah ‘bout us? Yeah, right, tell anuddah one!" Blink commented, laughing. "Ya don’t believe me?" Molly asked smiling. She grabbed then grabbed his hand and drug him out to the family room and sat him in front of the TV. The rest of the newsies shrugged at each other and followed, along with Marissa. Molly, turned on the TV and pressed rewind on her VCR. (Of course Newsies was already in it!) The rest of the newsies were looking at the TV in shock. "Hey how did all dose people get in dat little box?" Mush asked looking baffled. Marissa rolled her eyes. "They aren’t in the box, its just pictures of them…" "Ohh…" all the boys said, not really understanding. "Here, watch!" Molly said pressing play on the VCR and immediately Newsies began, with Race’s commentary. Soon, Carrying the Banner began and the boys were completely enthralled. They sat through the entire movie silently. "Just what are the trying to say ‘bout me and Denton?" Davie asked after the movie was finished. "They make it look like we are…ya know…interested in each other! We aren’t really like that." The other newsies smirked but didn’t comment, except for Race laughing and saying, "C’mon Davie stop makin’ it so easy fer us ta make fun a ya!" "I jest don’t see why we were constantly dancin’ an’ singin’. I mean geez if I evah did dat den I would have ta soak meself," Spot pointed out The rest of the boys chuckled and nodded in agreement. "So, ya believe me now, right?" Molly asked. "Yeah, I believe ya," Blink decided. "Good. Now, look, I was thinking about this during the movie and I was wondering what are you guys planning to do now? You don’t know how long you’re going to be here," Molly said. "Well...we don’t really got anywheah ta go," Itey said. (haha you forgot he was there didn’t you!) Molly thought about it, until Marissa said, "Molly, why don’t they just stay here?" She looked doubtful for a minute, then got an excited look on her face. "Hey, your right!! Oh my god! My parents aren’t coming home from vacation for another week! This is SO great!!" she yelled, excitedly. "So, we’se all jest gunna stay heah?" Blink asked. "Yeah, if you want to! It will be great! Oh my gawd I have to go call my friends!" Molly exclaimed, running for the phone. Jack and Spot started to converse in hushed tones as the other boys stood around looking awkward. Marissa and Molly were soon punching away at the buttons of their phones, Marissa on line one and Molly on line two. Soon, shrieks were heard through out the house of "I KNOW I CANT BELIEVE THEY’RE HERE" and "THEY’RE HOTTER THAN I EVER IMAGINED". The boys looked at the girls with bemused expressions. After a few more hysterical phone calls, Marissa and Molly put the phones back in the cradles and returned to the boys. "So, uhh, you guys want a tour of the house?" Molly asked. "Yeah, dat would be great," Racetrack said, falling into step beside her. Molly smiled. "Great follow me," she said. She walked around her house pointing out the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, computer room, and bedrooms. When Molly reached one bedroom she got an idea. "Uhh…not that there is anything wrong with how you are dressed right now, but I was wondering if you want to put on some…oh I dunno clean clothes? And maybe take showers?" The boys looked down at the stained, torn clothes and laughed. "Shoah, we’se all’d like ta change but I don’t think dat we’se desperate enough ta wear goils clothes," Jack told her. "Well, I have an older brother who is away at college right now. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind sharing his clothes with you guys…not that he would ever know about it," Molly informed them. "All right den, let’s get changed," they all decided. "Good! Marissa, you know where the shower is downstairs, can you take Davie down there and show him?" Molly asked. "Then bring him back up and we’ll find some clothes for him." "Okay," Marissa decided, smiling happily. She grabbed Davie’s hand and dragged him downstairs chattering on about how much she was in love with him. "Okay, now, two of you can stay here," she said pointing at a bathroom. "There’s a shower in there and towels in the closet. Once you get all cleaned off you can walk back into my brother’s room and I’ll find some clothes for you." Spot and Jack decided to stay at that bathroom. Jack allowed Spot to shower first. Molly walked over a few rooms and came to another bathroom. "All right same deal. Two of you stay here," she told them. Blink and Racetrack decided to stay at this bathroom. Racetrack smiled mischievously before running into the bathroom and locking the door. Mush laughed and said, "I guess he’s goin’ foist Blink." Blink glared and sat down in the hall waiting for his turn. Molly walked down the hall and to another bathroom. "All right, you two, this is the last one. Shower and report back to my brother’s room." The two boys nodded and Molly went back to her brother’s room. She rummaged through all her brother’s clothes trying to find clothes that would fit all the newsies. Spot, Racetrack and Mush soon arrived wearing only towels. Molly’s jaw dropped when she saw them and made no effort to hide her reaction. "Well, as much as it pains me to give you these clothes, I guess I’ll have to," Molly said smirking. The guys all blushed and rolled their eyes. They took their clothes and looked around awkwardly. Molly went back to looking through her brother’s clothes for four more sets. Racetrack cleared his throat. "Uhh, where are we supposed ta change?" Racetrack asked. "Oh, damnit I was hoping that you were going to change right here!" she said laughing. The guys looked at her skeptically. "Hey, a girl can dream!" she defended. "You guys can go into any other room that someone isn’t in and change. It doesn’t matter, make yourself at home." The guys left to change and you can sure as hell bet that Molly was watching them as they left. Marissa came up just as they were leaving and squealed. The boys rolled their eyes and went into separate rooms to change. Marissa ran up to Molly and said, "Did you just see them!! They were only wearing TOWELS!" before squealing again. Just as Marissa was done hyperventilating over the first group of boys, Blink, Itey, and Jack walked in, wearing towels. Marissa threw herself onto the bed and screamed into a pillow. The boys stared at her quizzically before looking to Molly for clothes. "Here you go," Molly said handing each a set of clothing. "I’m afraid that only Jack’s clothes will fit since he’s about my brother’s size, but oh well at least they will be clean." The guys said thank you and walked back to the bathrooms to change. "Wow, am I’M ALWAYS going to remember that," Molly said collapsing onto the bed next to Marissa. Then a thought occurred. "Hey Marissa, where is Davie? Not that I want to see him in a towel but he’s been in the shower for an awfully long time…" "Oh, yeah, he was taking a long time and all singing so I told him to come up here when he was done," Marissa said sitting up. "He does take a long time in the shower." Molly laughed. "Davie not so perfect anymore?" "Well I never liked him for his singing voice," Marissa pointed out with an evil smile. "Dirty girl!" Molly accused laughing. "Yeah, I admit it," Marissa joked. "Hey," Davie said coming into the room with only a towel on. Even Molly had to admit he looked cute in only a towel. She quickly reminded herself that he was only a whiny, annoying person and pushed the thought out of her mind. "Here. Take these and change into them in any room you can find that is empty," Molly said handing him a set of clothes. "NOT BLUE" Davie suddenly shouted. "I FUCKING HATE BLUE!" Molly was so shocked that he swore that she almost fell off the bed. "Umm…okay…" she said trying to stifle her laughter. "I’m sorry but ever since I have been little everyone has been like, ‘Oh wear blue Davie, it brings out your eyes,’ or ‘Oh Davie that color is so pretty on you!’. God damnit! Maybe I don’t want to be pretty!" he ranted. Molly, still surprised, went through her brother’s clothes again, finding a pair of black pants and a black t-shirt. "Here, try these on," she said smiling. Davie looked ecstatic and skipped off to change. By this time, Spot, Mush and Racetrack were done. They came back to model for the girls, who burst out laughing. All of the boys were swimming in their oversized clothes. "Well, I guess that’s you’re going to have to make due with that," Molly said still laughing. "Fine, whatevah," Mush said a little upset that he couldn’t show off his muscles. "I feel outta place when I’se not in plaid," Racetrack commented, looking down at his baggy jeans and blue t-shirt. "An’ how do you’se guys live wid out suspenders ta hold up yer pants?" "Um..Race if you wear suspenders now you would probably get soaked every day," Molly told him. Racetrack looked shocked. "Things shoah is weird heah," he muttered. The rest of the boys eventually wandered in, looking equally as silly. Except Jack, whose clothes fit perfectly. Davie came in, wearing all black, and looking very happy with himself. With his new "bad boy" look came a new attitude. Molly noted that he even acted half way normal and didn’t whine nearly as much. The entire group then moved into Molly’s basement where they lounged around the room and talking about different things. Marissa and Molly made the newsies tell them everything about newsie life. About a half an hour after they had gone down to the basement the doorbell rang. "Who is that?" Molly wondered out loud. Marissa shrugged. "You aren’t expecting anyone?" she asked. "No…not at all. Maybe it’s like the mail man or something," Molly decided getting up and walking upstairs. She opened the door to find a couple of her friends at the door. "Hey," she said, not letting them in the door. "Uhh…what are you guys doin’ heah?" she asked. "Uhh…duh Molly! You just called us and told us that the newsies had jumped out of the computer. It was an obvious cry for help!" Katie said. "So are ya going to let us in?" Molly thought and said, "I’m not supposed to have people in here unless I ask my parents first." Just then, Spot and Jack came into Molly’s friend’s view. "Oh my gawd!" Kerry yelled pushing past Molly. "Who are these fine looking boys?" she asked checking them both out very obviously. Spot and Jack looked at Molly questionably. She shrugged and said, "Kerry, Katie, meet Jack Kelly and Spot Conlon." Kerry, not knowing about Newsies, just took them to be extremely nice looking guys. "Well, it’s very nice to meet you," she said linking arms with Jack. Jack, unable to escape, followed her downstairs. "Another one bites the dust," Katie muttered. Then, remembering that Spot was still there," I can’t believe I am meeting you!" she gushed, walking up and sticking out her hand. "I’m Katie," she told him. "How, how’s it goin’?" I’m Spot…but I guess ya already know dat," he said shaking her hand. Molly sighed and closed the door. "C’mon, you guys might as well go downstairs. How long are you allowed to stay, Katie?" "I told my parents I’d be home in a couple hours but I could spend the night I think," she told Molly, not taking her eyes off Spot. "Uhh…your parents would kill you if you spent the night with a house full of boys," Molly pointed out. "Well, what my parents don’t know won’t hurt me!" Katie told her, smirking. "Yeah, right. Like you would lie to your parents," Molly said, rolling her eyes. "This is special," Katie decided. Spot, looking confused, said, "All right den, I’se goin’ downstaihs." Katie followed close after him, smiling hugely. Molly, annoyed at the new company, (well, annoyed with Kerry) decided to stay upstairs for a few minutes to find some food. She ended up cooking hamburgers, hot-dogs, and french fries. Then arranging various other foods into bowls and such. After twenty minutes of cooking and arranging she looked around at the mess she had made and laughed at herself. Gawd, look at me! I finally don’t have to cook for a week, have seven extremely hott guys in my basement and what am I doing? Cooking! Wow, am I a nerd she thought to herself before picking up as much food as she could carry and heading downstairs. She was just in time to witness Kerry hit Jack with a pillow. Marissa, from the other side of the room, shouted, "NOOOOO JAAAACK RUUUUUN!!" Molly set down the food quickly and rushed to rescue Jack. "Hey…uhh…Jack how about helping me carry food?" she asked, grabbing his hand and pulling him away from Kerry’s clutches. "Yeah, all right," Jack said hurrying away with Molly. "What was all dat ‘bout?" Jack whispered on the way up the stairs. "Well," Molly said reaching the top of the stairs, "Kerry isn’t the girl you want to get in a pillow fight with." She laughed at Jack’s confused expression. "See, she’s sometimes known for…umm…how do I put this delicately? Well’s she’s kind of known for hitting guys with pillows and then jumping on them. Molly then went on to relate the whole story to Jack: Kerry had been going through sex withdrawal one night and went over to her friend, Ben’s house, looking to get some. After talking for a little while she got bored and hit him with a pillow. This resulted in a full blown pillow fight, until Ben got tired of it and moved on to dry fucking her. Kerry, admitting this was wrong, stripped down and they began fucking correctly. Kerry, then, wrote a note relating the entire ordeal to Molly and complained about the lack of after play. (LOL this is actually a true story with one of my friends, sadly.) Jack burst out laughing. "God, I’se glad dat ya saved me!" he exclaimed. "Jest what kinda aftah play was she lookin’ fer?" he asked confused. Molly shrugged. "Who knows? I’d just advise that you keep your distance." "I’ll take dat advice happily. Yer oddah friends are safe doh, right?" he checked. "Marissa and Katie? Yeah, they’re completely fine but uhh…I wouldn’t try anything unless you’re looking to get turned down," Molly told him, before picking up a few plates of food and handing them to him to carry. "Why’s dat?" he asked, accepting them. "Not dat I was plannin’ anythin’ but why are ya so shoah dat I’ll get toined down?" He was a little upset since she had automatically assumed he couldn’t get the girls to like him. "I’m not saying you aren’t crushable or anything but I know that Katie is completely in love with Spot and Marissa with Davie," Molly said picking up a few plates and heading back to the stairs. "Well, how ‘bout you? Ya go anyone yer in love wid?" he asked Molly. "Hmm…well, I do like this one guy but I think he already has a girlfriend," she said looking down at the food she was carrying it as if giving her full attention to not dropping it. "Really? So you like Spot, too?" he asked, looking a little disappointed. "What? Spot? No…Spot has a girlfriend?" she asked, surprised. "Yeah, a course he does. An’ he’s da only one a us dat I could think a dat does have one," Jack told her. "Who else did ya think had a goil?" "Well, what about you and Sarah?" she asked, walking down the stairs in front of him. "Me an’ Sarah?" he asked, surprised. "AAAAH DON’T SPEAK DA NAME!!!" Racetrack yelled from where he was sitting under Kerry. Everyone burst out laughing, except Davie. "C’mon guys, give it a rest!" he yelled, feeling like he should stand up for his sister. "It’s okay Race, I was jest explainin’ ta Molly how she ain’t me goil, anymoah," Jack told him. Molly rose her eyebrows and asked, "Really? Ya looked really in love in da movie.." "Yeah, well looks can be deceivin’. She kinda got annoyin’ an’ everythin’. Aftah da strike was ovah she got da idea dat she had ta be ‘round me all da time, even when I was sellin’ or out wid da boys. So, I dropped her like a hot potata," he told her, smiling. "Wow…that’s a relief…I mean, it’s a relief because I just never thought you guys were suited for each other…yeah…" Molly tried to cover for her mistake. Jack have her a half smile. "Shoah, dat’s what ya meant." Molly rolled her eyes. "Fine, I lied. I’m madly in love with you and the only reason I rescued you from Kerry is because I wanted to jump you first. Happy now?" "Only if ya mean it," Jack told her. Molly smirked at him. "Of course I meant it! I mean…really since the first time you landed on me I was like ‘Wow love at first site’" she continued to joke. Jack caught the sarcasm in her voice and it kind of irked him. Wow, is dis goil confusin’. I guess some things nevah change, even in a hundred yeahs, he thought, setting down his food, where Molly told him to. Molly and Jack went to sit with the rest of the boys and they all began joking around and talking. After a few minutes Jack nudged Molly and whispered, "Don’t ya think ya aughta rescue Race too? He’s been stuck like dat fer awhile." He indicated Racetrack’s position under Kerry. Molly smiled mischievously and nodded. She whirled around to face Kerry, as if noticing for the first time that she was on Racetrack. "Oh my gawd, Kerry! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" she yelled. Everyone in the room looked shocked, except for Jack who was struggling to keep his laughter inside. "Wh..What are you talking about?" Kerry asked, disconcerted at actually seeing Molly angry. "Why the HELL are you on Racetrack? Do you have to get on EVERY guy I like?" she asked, grabbing at Kerry’s arm and yanking her off. Racetrack although stunned, looked very relieved to be rid of her. Molly’s mood changed in a flash as she smiled sweetly and asked Racetrack, "Would you like to come dance with me?" "Dat would be nice but der ain’t no music," Racetrack pointed out. "I can take care of that," Molly said taking Racetrack’s hand and leading him to the stereo. She flipped through her CD’s looking for some appropriate dancing music. "So, wanna tell me what dat was all about?" Racetrack whispered in her ear, pretending to be looking at the CD’s with her. "Not really," Molly told him giggling. "I like to be a woman of mystery." "Dat you are," Racetrack agreed. Molly pulled out a CD and stuck it in her CD player, smiling evilly. "What are you up ta?" Racetrack asked. Molly giggled again. "Just watch," she said pressing play. Soon the song, "I’m Blue" by Eiffel 65. Racetrack’s eyebrows furrowed, not understanding. Molly gave him a knowing smile and said, "Just wait!" After a few more moments of the song Davie ran over looking crazed. "NO MORE FUCKING BLUE!!" he shouted. "TURN IT OFF! DAMNIT TURN IT OFF" he shouted. A concerned Marissa followed him. She put her hand on his arm and said, "Sweetie, what’s wrong?" He whipped around and yelled, "MAKE THE MUSIC STOP! NO MORE BLUE! NOOOO MOOOOOOREE!" By then everyone else had seen the spectacle he was making of himself and began laughing hysterically. Molly, finally relenting, turned it off and began searching through her CD’s again. Davie returned to the corner he had been talking with Marissa in and everyone went along what they were doing now. Mush had now fallen victim to Kerry’s attention. Molly, finding the CD she had been looking for, slipped it into the CD player and put it on the correct track. Soon, "Blue" (or whatever it’s really called…hehe sorry not so good at the whole music thing can ya tell?) by Leanne Rymes blasted out. Davie freaked out again. "YOU BITCH! TURN THE FUCKING BLUE OFF!" he yelled, storming over to where Molly was standing. "Hey, that’s kinda harsh," Molly protested. "True…but still harsh," she added smirking. "I don’t GIVE A FUCK! TURN IT OFF" he insisted. "All right. Gawd, don’t have a conniption! I’ll stop I promise!" she agreed, turning the song off. "Thank you," Davie said, returning to a normal person when the color ‘blue’ wasn’t mentioned. "Any time…" Molly said looking at him oddly. "Gawd talk about Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde," she muttered as he walked away. "Huh?" Racetrack asked, still laughing at Davie’s reaction. **During this time** Davie and Marissa went back to sit in the corner, talking quietly back and forth. Davie, realizing he could be himself around Marissa, was very relaxed and even cute at times. He made little jokes and Marissa was loving every second of it. "So, how did you get to be friends with someone like her," he asked, indicating Molly. "I mean she’s such…well a bitch…and you’re sweet and nice," he told her smiling. Marissa laughed. "She isn’t really a bitch. Molly just likes to joke around a lot." Molly, hearing her name, asked, "What did ya say Squibble?" Marissa laughed and yelled over, "Nothing I was just explaining how you aren’t always a bitch, Quipster." "You don’t have to make up lies about me!" Molly said, pretending to be angry. Marissa rolled her eyes and looked back to Davie. He was looking at her in confusion. "Ohh…the name thing…Quipster and Squibble are our nick names on the Newsie Mailing List" she explained to him. "I see," Davie pretended. "Now where was I? Oh yeah, I was just saying that Molly isn’t always a bitch and I am definitely not always sweet," she said as if daring him to challenge her on it. Which, being Davie, he did. "What are you talking about? You have been nothing but completely sweet and nice since I’ve gotten here!" "I’m just saying…I have other sides too. Like, my flag corps side. That girl is definitely not sweet," she told him. "Well, how do you act at flag corps? Whatever that is.." Davie asked, interested. "Let’s just say that being sweet really isn’t on my mind when I’m talking to some people," Marissa said, smirking. "Oh, do not tell me that you can be as big of a bitch as Molly, or Quipster or whatever. There is no possible way," Davie decided. "Who says I was talking about bitchy?" Marissa asked. "Well, you just said you weren’t sweet soo the opposite would be Molly," Davie pointed out. "No…I was talking about sometimes I’m not all sweet because I can definitely get dirty with the best of them," she said with a mischievous look in her eyes. Davie, not expecting this, became much more interested. (Hey, he’s a teenage boy…he’s hormonal!) Marissa noticed this and laughed to herself. "So just how dirty do you get?" Davie asked, in a flirtatious voice. (Squibble you owe me SO MUCH! My writing skills are SO getting tested with the whole Davie seeming cool thing…well normal at least) Marissa, figuring she only got this kind of chance once in a lifetime, decided to live it up. She leaned closer to Davie and whispered, "Very dirty," before leaning back, still smirking. Davie was hanging off her every word now. **Meanwhile** Spot and Katie were sitting together, near the group, talking with each other. Katie, not one for obvious flirting, asked, "So how do you like it here so far?" Spot smirked. "Well, I liked it a lot more since you got here," he told her. Katie blushed a little, then continued her questioning. "Don’t ya miss anything or anyone from home?" "Well, I did fer a while. But I’se beginnin’ ta realize how much I like it heah…well now," he said, hoping that he would catch his none-to-subtle hints about liking her. "God, if I were lost a hundred years in the future, I would be so scared! Plus, I would miss my family and friends and everything. Plus, knowing you, you probably have a girlfriend worried sick at home," she said, skillfully checking to see if he had a girlfriend. "Nah, it ain’t like I got so much family at home. An’ mosta me friends are heah wid me. An’ I definitely don’t got a goil at home worried ‘bout me," he told her. Then, rationalizing to himself, Well, it ain’t like Tinker’s evah gunna know what I do heah, if I evah do get back. Plus, I ain’t lyin’ ‘cause she prolly ain’t worried yet! Katie, happy to discover he didn’t have a girlfriend, smiled. "That’s good," she said offhandedly, not really knowing how to respond. "Really?" Spot asked a little too eagerly. Then, realizing how he sounded, asked, "Why is it so good?" Katie looked a little uncomfortable. "It’s good because I’d feel bad if you had a bunch of people worrying about you back where you come from," she lied. Well, that IS a good thing…of course that isn’t really what I was talking about but that doesn’t matter. I can’t just be like "Hey, ever since seeing you in a movie I have been completely in love with you". He might find that a little stalkery… Spot looked visibly disappointed. **Back to Race and Molly** Molly and Racetrack had continued dancing. Soon Jack came over a few minutes later and tapped Race on his shoulder. ‘May I cut in?" he requested. Racetrack looked over at Kerry, who was still keeping Mush busy. "Fine," he agreed. "But ya owe me one, Cowboy. An’ if dat goil comes neah me ya gotta come rescue me again." Jack smiled. "It’s a deal." Racetrack then abandoned Molly, leaving her to dance with Jack. Jack smoothly slid his arms around Molly’s waist and smiled at her. She blushed a little before placing her arms around his neck. Wow does this feel different than dancing with Racetrack. Maybe that’s because Jack is about a foot taller than Race and you actually like him… "So, dis is nice," Jack said awkwardly. God, does she hate me or somethin’? She an’ Race were ovah heah jokin’ an’ talkin’ an’ when I get ovah heah I can barely get her ta say anythin’ ta me. Yeah, nice," Molly said, trying to hide the stuttering in her voice that she got when she was nervous (hey, don't laugh...it's not my fault...). They danced in silence for a few more awkward moments before Jack attempted conversation again. "So, nice job. Rescuin’ Race an’ everythin’, I mean." "Thanks," she said. Okay, not goin’ so well…Damnit Jack what are ya doin’ wrong!? Mush, seeing the awkwardness between Molly and Jack, was more than willing to take it as an excuse to escape from Kerry. He walked up to Molly and said, "Hey, Molly. I was wonderin’ if ya got any music a little fastah den dis?" Molly, thankful for the interruption, grinned at Mush and let go of Jack. "Sure, Mush. Let’s see if we can find something better," she said flipping through her CD case. Damnit! She’s even more willin’ ta talk ta Mush den ta me. I really must be doin’ somethin’ wrong. All he has ta do is complain ‘bout da music an’ she smiles at him! Jack thought, watching them look through the music. Molly smirked and pulled out a CD. "I’ll teach you boys a different kind of dancing," she told them slipping it into the CD player. "Hey! Kerry? Wanna teach these boys what real dancing is?" she asked as J Lo’s remix of "I’m Real" came on. "Dancing? I’m always up for dancing," Kerry said jumping up from her seat next to Blink. He sighed in relief, having scooted over as far as he could on the couch. He thought Kerry was nice and all but she had a tendency to come on a little strong. Molly looked at Mush and Jack who were still standing by her and asked, "You guys game?" "I’m up fer anythin’ ya got," Jack said, truthfully. Molly smiled at him and winked. "You shouldn’t say that to people you don’t know that much about. Who knows what they’re hiding?" Jack laughed. "I’m willin’ ta find out anythin’ yer hidin’" he offered. "I’ll keep that in mind," she said smiling. "Now, are we just going to talk or are we going to dance?" "Dance!" Kerry said walking up. "What kinda dancing did ya have in mind?" "I don’t think it would be fitting for these boys to visit the twenty first century without at least getting to freak once," she told her. Kerry nodded in agreement. "That would be completely un-fitting." "Freaking? That sounds an’ awful lot like…" Jack started. "Hey, dirty boy. Get that out of your head. It’s a type of dancing!" Molly teased. "It was too good to be true, Jack" Mush said laughing. "Well, I dunno…play your cards right…" Molly said. "Really?" Jack asked, shocked. "Nope! Onto dancing!" she said. Molly started the song over and walked over to Jack. "Now, Jack, don’t get the wrong idea with all this…it’s just how we dance now," she said before turning around and starting to freak. Jack was completely shocked and getting all sorts of wrong ideas. He was too distracted with his wrong ideas to begin dancing. Molly laughed when Jack remained completely stiff. "Jack…when you’re dancing with another person, ya kinda expect them to dance too…" Jack, blushing a little said, "Sorry, I jest don’t really know what ta do an’.." "Say no more. Kerry, ya wanna help out with Jack and then we’ll both show Mush too?" she asked, when observing that Mush wasn’t doing so well either. Kerry, a little exasperated, nodded and walked over behind Jack. If Jack wasn’t red by then, he was after that. Both girls started dancing and Jack, after a few moments of just standing there, started to get into it and before long found himself keeping up with the girls quite well. The song ended after a few more minutes and the girls stepped together. "I think we’ve done quite well," Kerry said. "I’d agree. YAY for us!" Molly said. "All right, Mushy. It’s your turn," Kerry declared. Mush, who had been observing the entire time, caught on faster than Jack. Soon, all four were having the time of their lives dancing and laughing. Jack was relieved to find Molly didn’t hate him and Mush found that Kerry really was fun to be around, when she wasn’t trying to attack him. Marissa and Davie noticing the fun made their way over and started dancing too. They didn’t join in the group but stayed by themselves, freaking up a storm. Molly noticed their failure to join the group. She nudged Jack and pointed at them. "See, told you," she said. "Yeah, ya were right. Gawd, I don’t think dat I’se evah seen Davie go dis long wid out whinin’.. He must really like Marissa." "Yeah, and dear lord does she really like him! She has been , like, obsessed with him since…well since Newsies came out," Molly told him. Jack, suddenly remembering, said, "Ya know, ya still haven’t told me which a us dat you had a crush on." Molly laughed. ‘I’d hoped you had forgotten. Wait, yeah I did. Remember I admitted to it being love at first sight!" Jack laughed. "C’mon. Ya ain’t gettin’ out a it dat easy." Molly smirked. "Wanna make a bet?" she asked, before she stopped talking. She continued to dance around in silence, ignoring Jack’s pleas for at least a hint. It didn’t take Blink and Racetrack to join in dancing with the rest. And, soon after Spot and Katie noticed. "So, wanna go dance?" Katie asked, not sounding very enthusiastic. Spot shook his head. "Spot Conlon doesn’t dance," he declared. Katie rolled her eyes. "Ya know you don’t have to talk in third person all the time. I know what your name is," she informed him. Spot smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, habit," he told her. "That’s okay. And I’m glad you don’t want to dance…I’m not really into the whole dancing thing." "Oh really? So, what are ya inta?" he asked. "Oh…I dunno…" she answered, not sure what to say and hoping her vague answer would suffice Part 2 |
