Chapter 9

Out for seven hours, two of which were at the top of the Space Needle eating one hunred dollar a plate lunches. Justin grabbed JC's hand as they slowly made their way up the stairs to the apartment. JC's other hand was holding bags from random stores in down town Seattle. Justin made them stay and play games at Games Work for an hour, after that, they walked around down town and went into every store they could find.

Justin had on an old, navy blue baseball cap, from the Gap which faded blue jeans and a black shirt that fit his body, tightly. JC was wearing cargo pants with a wife beater and a green button down shirt left open, he like Justin was wearing a baseball hat from the Gap.

Not many people had noticed them, and the ones that did, just smiled and waved at them. That was one reason Justin talked his mom into getting a place in Seattle, people were polite, they left you alone when they seen you walking around town. Even when they were buying their clothes, the sales ladies were nice, and didn't giggle, point or get flustered when they were in front of them.

Justin stopped in front of the door and turned to look at JC. They had spent the last two days together, not answering their cell phones not answering to anyone but their selfs. They hadn't got to do something like this since before NSYNC started for JC, Justin on the other hand had to answer to someone his whole life.

"I love you." Justin whispered as he kissed JC lightly on the lips.

"Justin... don't, you say it like you'll never be able to say it again." JC sighed closing his eyes, the whole time they were there, Lynn tried to stay out of their hair she didn't want to bother them, she knew they had come here to get away from everyone, even her.

"We leave tomorrow at five o'clock in the morning, we'll be with them again." Justin half laughed as he opened the door and walked in, grabbing JC's hand and pulling him inside.

Their whole day was ruined when they walked in the apartment, Justin stopped dead in his tracks his grip on JC's hand got tighter the longer he stood there staring at the people sitting on the couch, their eyes looking at JC and him. JC closed his eyes, and slowly pulled his hand out of Justin's death grip, his heart was racing faster than he had since he could remember. The guys all knew about them, just the guys not their families. They wanted to tell their families, but hadn't found it in them selfs to let them know.

Randy was the first one to stand up, the clapping of his hands snapped Justin out of the shock he was in. With out thinking twice he turned around trying to leave, but was stopped when he slammed into JC's hard as a rock body. JC's hands went up Justin's body and stopped at his shoulders, he slowly turned Justin around so that he was facing them, their families, Karen, Roy, Randy, Lisa, Paul, and Lynn. Justin's eyes went from his father over to his mother, whom had a drink in her hand looking down like she was the cause of what was going on. Again, Justin turned around wanting, trying to leave, again JC wouldn't let him.

"Let me go!" Justin hissed his voice lower than a whisper so only JC could hear.

"You want me to let you go, so that I have to be here with them, I think not." JC closed his eyes taking a deep breath, he grabbed Justin's hand and pulled him as well as he could towards their families.

"Mom, talk you and I now!" Justin snapped pulling away from JC and walking towards the bedroom he and JC had shared for the last three nights, Lynn got up and followed him, knowing that her son was up set.

JC stood there and looked at everyone, they were all still staring at him. He was going to follow JC but was stopped when his mom started to talk.

"Joshua, we haven't heard from you for a month." Karen half smiled as she stood up and slowly started to walk towards him, Roy grabbed her arm and stopped her, she gave him a few looks and pulled her arm away from her husband. Her short arms went around JC in a tight hug, JC pulled his arms around her in a hug.

"What are you all doing here?" JC asked loudly looking at each person sitting on the couch.

"Lynn called us, what are you doing here son?" Roy asked standing up and walking towards JC.

"Uh... Just getting away from the guys, and resting..." JC said biting his lower lip, he felt like he was five years old and was caught taking a cookie from the cookie jar.

Before any thing else could have been said, JC's head turned towards the bedroom where Justin and Lynn were in, Justin started yelling and things were being thrown around. JC pulled away from his mom and ran into the bedroom, he grabbed Justin my the arms and held them behind his back.

"Why did you have to call him?" Justin asked tears stinging his dark blue eyes.

"He is your father, Justin!" Lynn said softly walking towards him, he shied away and turned into JC's arms, letting the tears fall.

"I hate him, you shouldn't have got into this, you should have stayed out of my business." Justin sobbed into JC's chest putting more of an affect into them, than if he weren't crying. "I hate him so much, and you bring him here, tell him my business, I hate him..." Justin cried trailing off at the end as JC made his grip on Justin tighter than before.

Mary Ann sat at her desk, she had just finished reading over Katies artical for the *NSYNC issue that was going to press in less than a day. She was just proof reading it before she sent it out. To her, it was one of the best articals that were wrote up on the *NSYNC guys, it showed the true guys, in every aspect of true guys. The interview had been a few hours long, which included the times each member was doing the photo shoot.

"Katie." Mary Ann called Katie into her office.

"So you liked it, am I correct?" Katie smiled closing the door to the office and sitting down in a chair.

"Well, it's not your best work, but it is the best artical on *NSYNC I've read." Mary Ann shrugged her shoulders as she closed her lap top.

"Well, I wasn't sure how to start it, I know that may sound stupid and all, but it was hard. I was thinking of starting it out about JC and Justin, than I thought about that and figured that would be TOO much for the young readers to read first. So I just started it out with the introduction with..." Mary Ann cut Katie off

"Katie, it's fine, I liked how you started it out. I did read it, you don't have to tell me why and how you wrote it up. I personaly don't care if a little bird told you how to start it, just as long as you got it done on time, which you did." Mary Ann stated as she moved a little in her chair grabbing some paper out of her printer. "I sent it out to get printed... I didn't contact any one from the *NSYNC camp. I know if they read what you wrote, they would have rewrote it and changed over half of it, and I didn't want that to happen." Mary Ann added handing the papers to Katie.

"Can't you be sued for that? Mary Ann, what you did was against the law, I wouldn't want you to get sued for this artical on *NSYNC." Katie said standing up.

"Don't worry about it, If we didn't write about it, some tabloid magazine would write about it." Mary Ann shrugged opening her lap top again, her eyes roamed over the words Katie had wrote.

Another work day for each working person in the world, another hot day in Orlando, the funny thing about today was the fact that there were no screaming girls, no cops blocking off the roads. Sure it wasn't just a normal day, I was sitting there watching as three members of *NSYNC goofed off, Joey kept beating Lance over the head with an over stuffed bear that Chris showed up with. It was pretty funny watching three grown men act like five-year-old children. It was a little over an hour later that the two lead singers showed up. At first I thought they weren't as 'friendly' to each other as we all have seen on TV. They were doing a very good job at ignoring each other, but it all changed when we sat down for the interview.

Mary Ann closed her lap top again, and looked at Katie who was still standing in her office.

"Listen..."

"Katie, if he get's mad at you, tell him I changed it a little." Mary Ann half smiled up at Katie.

"That's not what I was going to..."

"Yes it was, I saw him here the other day. Lance sure has grown up..." Mary Ann winked as she stood up and walked towards her office door.

"Okay, so he was here the other day. He stopped by to ask me out actually, I was really shocked that HE would want ME to go on a date with him." Katie smiled as she followed Mary Ann out of the office and towards the coffee.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you like Mr. Bass." Mary Ann wiggled her eyebrows up and down.

Katie and Mary Ann, had been best friends since Katie started to work at the magazine, it wasn't something Mary Ann did, she didn't become friends with her staff the way she and Katie had bonded. There was something that made them the best of friends, even though they were nothing a like, they were best friends, and always helped each other out.

"Lance and his bass, that boy has got skills in bed." Katie beamed a bright smile as she poured a cup of coffee, it was only 9 o'clock in the morning, the magazine was going to press tomorrow.

They eached laughed as they walked back to Mary Ann's office to talk about the magazine, Katie's next artical and what it will be about. In the back of her mind, Katie knew the artical on *NSYNC was going to be blown up, she wasn't even sure if JC and Justin's parents knew about them. She was also afraid that Lance would break things off with her because of what was wrote up.
