Chapter Three

Like Sarah promised she showed up every morning to see how everything was. The morning after the 1st was the day Hailee went back to school. She didn’t want to go back to school with out her mother with her, she knew that wasn’t going to happen and that Adrea was going to be back in a week. Sarah pulled up in her car turning it off, she sat there for a few minutes before she jumped out and ran to the front door. The door was always locked even though there was a gate. She pulled out her key, her hands shaking for the cold wind that was hitting her. After struggling to unlock the door for a few minutes she managed to open it and walk inside the warm dark house. It was just going on 6:30am, Hailee’s school didn’t start until 8:15am she just wanted to be there and get her up and ready.

Sarah sat her purse down on the couch and laid her coat on the back of it. She slowly made her way into the kitchen and flipped on a light, she was going to cook breakfast for them even if her life depended on it. After five minutes in the kitchen she found there was only milk and cereal to eat for breakfast. She came early for nothing at all, she wanted to make something and she had no time to run to the store and shop. Sarah slowly made her way out of the kitchen and to the stairs that lead up to the sleep quarters of the house. One step at a time, Sarah slowly walked up the stairs trying not to wake the two sleeping people in the house.

Sarah stopped at the first bedroom door she found shut, it happen to be Justin’s bedroom door. She had been in his bedroom many of times, in his bed sleeping in it next to him with out her brother knowing. It didn’t seem that bad at the time, the two of them were best friends. Her hand reached out and took the doorknob; she turned it slowly and pushed open the door. Justin’s clothing from the day before were lying all over the floor. A sock was hanging half way off the bed; his T-shirt was lying on the floor next to his pants and shoes.

Sarah sat at the end of the bed and looked around the messy bedroom. It wasn’t like Justin to let his bedroom get so messy, he usually only let it get this bad when he had a lot on his mind, or if he was worried about something. When he got worried about something, cleaning to him seemed like a waste of time.

Sarah crawled up on the bed and laid her head on the pillow next to his and looked up at the ceiling. A lot had been on her mind the last few weeks, things she didn’t want to think about. She closed her eyes for a second then opened them only to see a tan arm inches from hitting her face. She was moving her hands up to block Justin’s arm from hitting her when his body stopped her hands. His left arm went around her and hand pulled her closer to him, so close she could feel every inch of his body against her own.

Sarah opened her eyes and looked at the clock it was going on ten-ten am. Half her face was covered by something other then a blanket, her hands were unable to be used for they were under Justin. She pushed up with her body; this movement awoke Justin from his sound sleep. A smile was formed on his face, as he put more weight on top of Sarah. She could tell he was awake this making her angry.

“Justin get off of me, Hailee is super late for school and this is going to look bad on you not me.” Sarah said pushing at him trying to get free.

“I was sleeping so soundly, now I know why.” Justin smiled as he rolled off of Sarah and on to his back.

Sarah rolled her eyes as she sat up and slid off of the bed, she walked rather fast to the bedroom door and flung it open only to be met with a already washed and dressed Hailee.

“Aunt Sarah, when did you get here?” Hailee asked

“I’ve been here, I fell asleep.” Sarah said running her hand through her blonde hair.

Hailee looked pass Sarah and into Justin’s bedroom, his cloths were all over the floor and he was lying on his back his chest showing, for it wasn’t under the covers. Hailee smiled up at Sarah as she proceeded down the stairs to the living room.

“Sure you fell asleep, can we get to school, before I’m even more late or what?” Hailee asked pulling on her coat and grabbing her backpack.

“You don’t want to say bye to Justin?” Sarah asked grabbing her coat and putting it on.

“No, I’ll see him after school, I hope you’ll stay when you bring me home.” Hailee said as she walked out the front door and got into Sarah’s car.

Sarah grabbed her purse and put it on her shoulder. She looked up the stairs and seen Justin standing on the last step a smile still on his face. She rolled her eyes at him as she started to the front door. She turned her head back and watched as he walked into the kitchen with only his boxers on. She got into her car and took Hailee to school, writing her a note to get into class. She gave her a smile hug and gave her a few dollars to bye lunch.

After watching Hailee walk into the school, Sarah sped off towards her house. She knew Hailee wanted her and Justin to get together, everyone really wanted that, only she didn’t think she could do it. Hook up with Justin, never see him, watch girls grab at him, listen to girls declare their love for him, she’d be to jealous and want to kill them all.

Pulling up to the gate, she was about to punch in the numbers when she remember she forgot her cell phone at Justin’s place. If things could get any worse she didn’t want to go over there. Back up and driving down the road towards Justin’s place.

She pulled up to his gate and looked around, reporters had been seen at her place a few days in a row, she just called the cops and had them come out and get them to go away. She rolled down her window and started to punch in the numbers for the gate to open, she was half way done when a few reporters came running towards her, trying to punch in the numbers faster not getting very far. Flashes started to go off in her face making it so she couldn’t see the numbers on the pad.

“Could we get a few words with you, Ms. Chasez?” One lady asked as another flash went off in Sarah’s face.

When Sarah didn’t say anything the flashes kept coming, hitting her from every where, there had to be about ten reporters around her car.

“Is it true Mr. Timberlake has lied to the fans and the two of you are still very much in love?” Another reporter asked Sarah looked at her and started to roll her window up. She wasn’t going to answer these questions; they had no right being at Justin’s place.

They weren’t even ‘going’ out any more, yet the press still thought they were. She sat in her car while the reporters banged on the window and the top of her car, shouting trying to get her to answer them. They were taking pictures of the car, from the front, only because the side windows were tinted.

~ Flash Back ~

The guys were all sitting in seats, Justin, JC, and Lance in front, Joey and Chris on stools behind them. Jay Leno was talking to the camera welcoming them back to the studio. Sarah was sitting back stage watching the show on one of the TV sets back there; most family members did just that. Jay was showing some photos of the guys when he stopped and looked at Justin.

“Justin, you’re 20 years old right?” Jay asked, Justin nodded his head

“Yeah, I’ll be 21 in two weeks.” Justin smiled as the guys made a few comments.

Jay pulled up the photo and placed it for everyone to see, the photo was of Sarah in Justin’s arms her arm around his neck. Justin was up against the door frame and they were in a passionate kiss Justin’s face turned bright red, from embarrassment, from people on the out side looking at that photo, they seen two teenage kids much in love not able to get enough of each other. If only they knew the real reason he was embarrassed. JC didn’t seem too happy to see the picture again, yet he didn’t show it very much. The other guys had to put their two cents into it

“Sarah right?” Jay asked with a slight laugh looking at the embarrassed Justin.

“Yeah, that’s my baby.” Justin said trying to hide his face, he moved his hand up to his face and ran it through his hair.

“How long have you two been dating?” Jay asked trying to not laugh at the still embarrassed Justin.

“About a year and a half.” Justin said leaning back in his chair.

“That’s a long time in this business.” Jay said

“Yeah, well when you love some one as much as I love her a year and a half isn’t very long. I do and don’t get to see her much.” Justin said with a slight smile.

~ End Flash Back ~

Tears were coming to Sarah’s eyes; she didn’t want these people getting into her life or Justin’s life any more. Rolling down her window once more, she punched in the last two numbers on the pad and the gate slowly started to open. The reporters were asking questions and taking pictures of her. She just ignored them as she rolled her window back up. She stopped her car behind Justin’s car and got out, she slammed the door shut and was met with a now dressed and showered Justin.

“Are you okay?” Justin asked running up to her, “I looked out the window and I seen you rolling down your window.” Justin said pulling Sarah into a hug

“I’m fine, let me go.” Sarah said pushing out of Justin’s arms.

“Don’t listen to them, they just can’t get over the truth.” Justin said turning and following Sarah to the front door.

“They asked if we were still in love, they won’t live what you say down. They need to just leave, me and you alone.” Sarah said moving her hand up to her face and pushing away a few tears.

Justin pulled Sarah to him and took her into a hug as he reached out and pushed open the front door. This was one reason he didn’t want to get Sarah into the messed up world of show business. They never let anything go away.
