Chapter 1

More To You Chapter One

(Saturday March 2nd 2002)

The night was half way over; the sun was trying to make its way over the horizon. The body in the room was restless, tossing back and forth, throwing and kicking his blankets off. His nights were short, his days were long, and rest was a must for this young man, yet he couldn't get the sleep he needed. With one last roll, and one last kick the blankets that once kept him warm were on the floor next to his over-sized king size bed. His heavy eyelids slid open and his tan arms ran across his bare chest. He sighed loudly as he looked around the dark bedroom shifting to lie on his side. His worn out blue eyes roamed the darkness until they landed on the bright red numbers a few inches from his face. He yawned a few times before reaching his hand out and pushing the clock away from his face.

Justin groaned when he realized it was going on Three-thirty A.M. This was the third night in a row that he couldn't get a good night rest in. Sitting up slightly he grabbed the cordless phone lying on the nightstand and punched in the speed dial number two. He was restless, he was bored, he couldn't get to sleep, there was only one person he could call at this time of night, with out them trying to kill him.

"Hello" A groggy, female voice was heard after four rings.

Justin snickered at hearing her answer the phone. He sat up even more and pressed the phone to his ear as he whispered softly into the phone. "Ms. Addison, I'm shocked it took you four whole rings to answer the phone. Is there a man in the bed with you?" Justin asked with a wide smile on his face.

The smile grew even bigger hearing her groan a few seconds after he stopped talking. Shay sat up in her bed and rubbed at her eyes, she looked at the clock and wanted to scream at Justin for calling so early, or late. however you looked at it.

"Mr. Timberlake, what I am is shocked. that you don't have some bimbo lying in bed with you at three-thirty AM! I am also dead tired from being around you and your damn group. Let me get some rest before we leave in two days for tour!" Shay said pushing her blankets away from her legs and past her feet.

"You know me better then that, Shay-Shay. I'm bored, and you know what that means. come over so we can play ball. I'll let you beat me this time." Justin snickered as he remembers the last time they played ball. Shay lost to him by over a hundred points.

"I'll be there in twenty minutes." Shay said hanging up the phone before Justin could say anything more to piss her off.

Justin pulled open the front door when he heard the car pull up and past the gate to his house. He walked out and greeted a very tired and pissed off Shay at her car door. His smile wide as he looked her up and down, she was sporting gray sweat pants and a dark blue T-shirt. Her light brown hair was pulled up to the top of her head, while her simple gray zip-up sweater hung open on her.

Shay rolled her eyes at Justin as she slammed her car door shut and walked passed him, and into the house. Justin followed her inside the house where they both walked through the kitchen and to the sliding glass door. Shay dropped her keys on the kitchen counter and walked out the sliding glass door, where Justin was now holding the NBA certified orange and black basketball in his hands up in the air. His smile was still plastered on his face while he did some fancy movement with his feet.

Shay walked up to him and pushed at his stomach, she then walked around him and stopped at half court. Her eyes remained on his back until he turned around. "So are we going to play, or are you just going to stand there like the idiot you are?" Shay asked crossing her arms over her chest, a smirk trying to appear on her face. It might have been almost four AM, but it was always fun to play basketball with Justin.

Justin tossed the basketball Shay's way and ran towards her while he dribbled the ball on the hard cement ground and ran around him going in for a lay-up, which was made. Shay threw her hands in the air and cheered for her self. She laughed as she chased Justin down the court and slammed into him, causing him to fall to the ground, ball and all.

Justin rolled over on to his back and sat up, all he could see was red. He didn't like the street games she was playing, even though he started it months earlier. He didn't like them being played on him, at his own house. Pushing him self up off the ground Justin stepped closer to Shay, and looked down at her evil smirk. Justin pushed his chest up against hers and with a loud laugh dribbled the ball to the three-point line, where he shot, and air-balled it.

Shay rolled her eyes as she snatched the rolling ball and dribbled it down court to do another lay-up and make another point. She turned around and smiled a bright smile at Justin. "Looks like you SUCK. and I rule." Shay said throwing the ball towards Justin.

Justin caught the ball and rolled his eyes with slight laughter. He dribbled the ball a few feet before he was knocked to the ground again. "Shay what the hell?" Justin asked looking up at Shay, her hands were at her sides, her feet were a good feet apart and she was smiling evilly at him.

"You wake me up at three-thirty AM, you pay Mr. Timberlake." Shay smirked bending down and grabbing the now non-moving basketball and bouncing it a few times before she shot at the three-point line and swished it in. "You don't pay me enough money to play these damn games with you. Until then you are going to get the shit kicked outta you." Shay smirked throwing the ball at Justin, who was still sitting on the ground.

Justin sighed and stood up with the ball under his arm. He took a few steps closer to Shay, then stopped. He knew the look she was giving him, the look of her disgust the look of hatred, the look she gave him when she was woke up early in the morning just to come play one-on-one with him. He knew she'd bite his head off if he wasn't careful.

"At least I don't ask you to brush my teeth, brush my hair, WASH my hair. wash my whole sexy body." Justin smirked as he dribbled the ball a few more feet closer to her. "At least I pay you. I mean, I could ask you to do all that, and NOT pay you. Now if you did all that, and I was paying you. you'd be my hooker. and I'd be." Justin's words were cut off with a blow to the midsection.

All the air in his lungs flew out of them as the pressure of Shay's shoulder slamming into him. They both went falling to the ground.

Shay pushed off of Justin and stood up, she grabbed the ball and looked down at him. "You were saying Mr. Timberlake?" Shay asked raising an eyebrow.

"I was saying how much I owe you for everything you do for me. and that you can sleep with JC any time you want." Justin smirked as he stood up, he back away until he almost fell when the basketball was hurled at his head.

"Justin, just because you are in love with the boy, don't mean I want to get into his pants." Shay said turning around and walking towards the sliding glass door.

Justin stood up and ran towards her, "Shay-Shay, how long have you been working for me, as my personal assistant?" Justin asked grabbing her arm and stopping her from advancing into the house.

Shay looked down at his hand on her arm, her eyes raised up his body and rested at his face. "To many damn years, that's how long." Shay said shrugging Justin's hand off her arm.

"Three-years Shay, that's not to long, its not like you hate me. or I hate you." Justin said following Shay into the house.

Shay rolled her eyes as she reached for her keys, only to grab at them to late, Justin's hand reached out and grabbed them into his. Shay turned around and looked at him, he might have been twenty-one years old, she might have been only twenty but she knew him to well, he liked to play head games with everyone. He was going to try and put some guilt trip on her, con her into playing more basketball, when she needed at WEG at eight AM for a meeting.

"No Justin, I don't hate you. You are everything that everyone wants, you are my boss, you picked me out of every intern at TransCon. I owe you my life; I owe you everything that I have. I owe you my apartment; I owe you for the great pay I get. Justin, everyone loves you, everyone thinks you are the best thing that has happen to the music world. Everybody wants to be, Justin Randall Timberlake." Shay said reaching her hand out, waiting for her keys to be given back to her.

"Shay, just stay another hour and play some video games. You know I can't just walk into an arcade and play games there. I'd have to have four hug security guards following me, standing two feet in front of me, two feet behind me, two feet to each side of me. It's a drag, and you make my life brighter. you and your OH SO CHEERFUL voice!" Justin said dangling the keys about Shay's head.

"I wish JC wanted me as his personal assistant, that boy has no life." Shay mumbled under her breath as she walked towards the entertainment room followed by Justin who stuffed her car keys into the pocket of his jeans.

Justin sat down on the couch next to Shay, she was still mumbling under her breath. Justin turned the TV on and turned the Play Station on. He looked over at Shay and snickered a little. "Ya know Shay-Shay, if you don't smile, that frown is going to be stuck on your purtyful little face of yours." Justin smiled as he sat back and waited for the basketball play station game to load.

"Why couldn't you get a male personal assistant? Don't you like to talk about how good some chick was, or how nice one girl's boobs were? Why MUST you have me, Shay Raylee Addison as your personal assistant?" Shay asked sitting back on the couch and picking her player

Justin glanced at Shay from the corner of his eye as the game started, "Is that a rhetorical question, or do you actually want an answer?" Justin asked, when Shay gave no sign of answering he figured that as a yes and answered her, "Well Shay-Shay, I've got four other guys to do that with, and I needed a woman that was my age around more often. People start to talk when there are five guys on a tour bus. People don't talk much when they see you walk off holding MY bags. Do you get my drift, that and you are the best at basketball." Justin said twisting his hands a little to the side then back in front of him again.

Shay slammed her car door and rolled her eyes when Justin jumped out of the car and followed her into the office building. She was late, and it was all because Justin made her stay over and play every which video game he hand, until she had a little less then an hour to get ready and be at Johnny's office. He thought he'd go with, since it was a tour meeting even though the guys didn't have to show up, he had nothing else to do. Each guy was in a different state, Lance in Mississippi, Joey was in New York, Chris was in Pennsylvania, and JC was in Maryland.

He had been up in Tennessee visiting his family for two weeks only a few weeks ago, he was back in Florida laying down tracks from a few songs for demos, and other artists. So he was, stuck, by him self for the next day and a half until the guys got back to go on tour. Sure he had his mother Lynn and stepfather Paul but being around his family EVERY day got to him. He did miss them when on tour; he missed them the most when he was out of state. When he was in state, and around them for months on end, he just needed other things to do, to busy his self, so he didn't have to hang with them every waking moment.

Shay pulled open the door where the meeting was taking place, she was a good thirty minutes late, and wasn't sure if Johnny was going to be all over her for it. She always seemed to be late for very important meetings, all thanks to Justin. Johnny sighed when he realized who just walked into the meeting room; his eyes went to a very tired Shay, to an overly happy Justin.

"Ms. Addison it's about time you joined us. We were just getting to the good part, you see. we've been going over the tour schedule for the crew and the trucks. I thought you'd like to be in on this, then again I could be wrong. I see you brought Mr. Timberlake with you also. That's always good." Johnny said walking towards her; he turned around at the crew and security guards. "If you would excuse me for a few moments, I need to speak with Ms. Addison and Mr. Timberlake in my own personal office. Consider this a break from my talking." Johnny said walking out the doors followed by Shay and Justin.

They walked into Johnny's office where he was standing behind his desk. his eyes fixed on the pair in front of him. Shay sat down first followed by Justin, letting the door click shut slowly.

"Mr. Wright, I know this looks bad." Shay started as she glanced at Justin then back to Johnny, "I've been late to every important meeting for the last three-years." Shay added the last part through clenched teeth, she just wanted to kill Justin for this, and it was just now dawning on her that whenever she could be promoted he would hold her back, and he held her back. He made her late for very important dates, he was doing everything in his will to make her get fired. or so she thought.

"Ms. Addison, it's not that you are late. to almost every important meeting, it's the fact that you are late and you come strolling in with Mr. Timberlake every time you are late for an important meeting." Johnny started as he sat down in his chair, propping his arms on the armrest and touching his chin with his hands. "You are his personal assistant, which means you are around him almost twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. But I'm beginning to ask my self if Justin needs a new personal assistant, a male one, one that is a little better at what he does. It's a constant pattern, Ms. Addison, You're late, you're very tired and you bring in an overly happy Justin after you are late. Now tell me Ms. Addison what is going on here?" Johnny asked his eyebrows raising.

Shay took a deep breath and let it all out very slowly; she sat up in her seat and looked over at Justin, then back over to Johnny. "You see, Mr. Wright, I think you are right. I'm not good enough to be Justin's personal assistant. I'm only twenty-year old, and people start to talk when they see a woman walk off a tour bus with Justin's stuff in her arms. They start to think, he isn't as innocent as he says he is, and the fans start to get a little freaked out, they think I'm sleeping with him." Shay started her eyes glanced over at Justin, to her surprise he hadn't moved an inch since she started to talk. "I believe Mr. Timberlake needs a male Personal assistant, one that can put up with the needs Justin has, and one that won't put up with the load of crap he feeds everyone. I for one will not stop you if you choose to fire me, or put me on a different job. I support you fully with out a second thought." Shay finished with a pleased smile on her face as she sat back in her seat and looked back at Justin, then to Johnny.

Johnny's eyes left Shay's and looked over at Justin, who sat the same way the whole time, "Justin, care to put your own words in?" Johnny asked

Justin sat up in his chair and learned forward a little more, he propped his elbows on the desk and looked over at Shay, he lazily pointed to her with his right thumb and looked back to Johnny.

"She's the best personal assistant I've had. When I had the guys all the other times, they didn't help me the way she has helped me. Sure I make her late, but it's all innocent. I can't sleep at night, so I call her and she comes over, we play one-on-one basketball and some video games. I'm twenty-one years old. I say I'm allowed to have a little fun. My fans aren't little twelve-year-olds any more, who freak out when they see a girl holding my bags coming off my tour bus. If she is replaced I'll be another "Joey" you know the one Lou made, the one that slept with all the girls, and told the world about." Justin said, keeping his smile off his face as he pushed his elbows off the desk and leaned back in the chair.

Johnny looked at Justin, then his eyes looked over at Shay, and she was sitting there looking down at her hands. He could tell the girl had had enough with Justin, he knew she was getting sick of what Justin put her through, yet he had no real way to get her off the job with Justin, not unless she quit, which was be breech of contract. She signed a contract that bind her to work with Justin for four years, or until she was fired
