Lynn smiled and hugged Justin tightly as he and Shay walk away from the gate. They all walked out of the airport, Shay hadn’t said a word, and she just stood there as Justin and his mom talked. "Shay are you getting a ride with us?" Lynn asked turning from Justin.
Shay looked at her and took a deep breath. "No." She said looking at Justin and letting her breathe out slowly when she noticed he was glaring at her.
"She has no other way home." Justin glared pulling his carry on bag up higher on his shoulder; he grabbed Shay’s and pulled it up no his other shoulder.
"My mom should be here soon." Shay lied pulling her bag off of Justin and onto her shoulder.
Justin grabbed her arm and yanked her away from his mom and closer to the building. He was trying to control his anger in front of Lynn; he took a deep breath and leaned in close to Shay. "Don’t fucking cause a scene in front of my mom. You have no other way home; you are getting a fucking ride. Get it? Got it? Good." Justin snapped yanking at her arm and pulling her back to where his mom was standing.
Lynn sighed as she looked at the tears forming in Shay’s eyes and the death grip Justin had had on her arm. She hated the fact that Justin treated Shay so badly, even though she didn’t know what was going on most of the time she could tell Justin wasn’t to nice to her.
"Let’s go you two." Lynn said with a fake smile as they all walked to her car in the parking lot. "So Justin, why isn’t Eric with you?" Lynn asked as they got into her car.
"I only booked two seats on the flight." Justin answered crossing his arms over his chest and looking out the window at the early morning.
"I bet you can’t wait until you see your family again?" Lynn asked looking in the mirror at Shay.
Shay turned her head from the window and looked at Lynn. "Yes." Shay sighed turning her head to look out the window again. Tears started to fall down her face as she rubbed at her arm.
"You get to see them just about as much as Justin gets to see his." Lynn laughed slightly as she pulled up to Justin’s house.
"That will all change soon." Shay mumbled as Lynn put the car in park and turned in her seat to look at her. Justin got out of the car and slammed the door shut.
"Are you okay?" Lynn asked watching Shay rub at her arm not even realizing she was doing just that. When Shay just nodded her head Lynn reached out and grabbed her hand away from her arm and lifted her sleeve slightly. "Did Justin do that to you?" Lynn asked anger laced in her voice.
Before Shay had the chance to answer Justin pulled open her door and grabbed her arm. "Thanks for the lift mom." Justin smiled pulling Shay out the car roughly; he grabbed her bag and slammed the door shut. Justin smiled at Lynn pulling Shay up towards the door, he waved and than yanked Shay inside the house.
"Let me go." Shay snapped slapping Justin across the face and pushing him away from her. "If you ever touch me again, so help me…" Her words ended with Justin’s hand covering her mouth and him pushing her into the wall, right next to the stairs.
"You are just like her." Justin’s voice was soft his eyes filled with hurt and anger. "You slept with my best friend." He added pressing his body against hers as she tried to kick at him. Shay’s tears were flowing freely out of her eyes and onto Justin’s hand as he pressed her harder into the wall.
Justin’s forehead rested on her shoulder as he kept repeating over and over again that she was just like Britney. His head popped up when his answering machine beeped loudly into the room and JC’s voice filled the room. "Hey Justin, I just wanted to see if you got in okay. I just called over to Shay’s and there was no answer. Give me a call when you get there." Justin pulled Shay away from the wall and picked up the phone.
"You are just like Wade." Justin yelled into the phone before he threw it across the room, yanking Shay closer to him.
"It was over a year ago." Shay’s voice cracked as tears ran down her cheeks. "A year ago." She added as Justin wiped her tears away roughly.
"We haven’t even had sex yet Shay. I think we should, that way you can tell me who is better, JC or me." Justin glared pushing Shay towards the stairs.
"Justin you are upset you don’t want to do this!" Shay cried out pushing Justin back as she ran up the stairs as fast as she could. Her tears were making her eye site blurry, and she was having hard time breathing. She would have fallen on her face, but Justin’s hands grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into his bedroom.
Shay’s eyes were blood shot as she sat at the top of Justin’s bed with her knees pulled up to her chest. The sun was shining through the open curtains and onto both her and Justin’s body. Justin sat at the bottom of the bed, his back facing Shay, his hands to his face trying to make it so that his eyes were blood shot any more.
They hadn’t said a word to each other for hours, it was going on nine o’clock in the morning, and they had gotten to his house at five-thirty that morning. Justin of course didn’t do anything to her; he threw her on the bed and started crying repeating over and over again how he thought she was different. Every time she tried to tell him that it happened a year ago, he’d yell at her to shut up. If someone was trying to call, they couldn’t get through because the phone down stairs was off the hook.
Shay crawled to the end of the bed and placed her hand on his shoulder. "Talk to me." Her voice was low and near his ear, "Please, Justin." She added pulling her arms around his midsection and hugging him tightly.
"You slept with my best friend. You are no better than Britney, she always did call you a slut and now I know why." Justin breathed rubbing his eyes.
"I am different Justin. I am, she CHEATED on you with Wade. What JC and I had going on ended a year ago!" Shay exclaimed holding onto him tighter as he started to move.
"How do I know that? How do I know it ended?" Justin asked grabbing her hands and pulling her so that they were facing each other. "Why did it even start in the first place?" He added staring at her with hurt filled eyes.
Shay sighed as she took a deep breath, she closed her eyes and reopened them slowly, and still Justin was staring at her. "Shawn had broke up with me a few months before JC and Bobbie broke up. It just kind of happened, we just basically used each other. We were rebounding on each other, the other guys knew, and we thought you knew." Shay answered as Justin ran a hand up and down her leg. "We thought you knew because you kept glaring at JC and making me sleep in your hotel room. But than after a few weeks of that you stopped and Britney started to show up." She added taking a deep breath.
"How do I know you two aren’t still screwing?" Justin asked his voice filled with angst.
"It was mainly all about the sex, and I told him that we couldn’t do it any more. I was Nineteen and he was twenty-four. I told him that feelings for you and that I couldn’t be doing what we were doing any more. I made him promise not to tell you, and he promised. I can’t believe he told you, I WAS going to tell you!" Shay cried out
"Britney told me, she told me on my phone while you were seeing why we hadn’t taken off yet." Justin rushed in one breath
Shay’s eyes almost bulged out of her head as she grabbed onto Justin’s shirt tightly. "How did she know?" Shay asked almost below a whisper.
Justin took her into his arms and held her tightly against his chest. "I think she’s known for a while." Justin commented as he hugged her to him. "I’m sorry Shay, God I could have killed you last night." Justin breathed hugging her tighter "I’m a stupid bastard who knows his father!" Justin sighed kissing the top of her head.
Justin pulled up to his mom’s house; he had just dropped Shay off at her place and was now going to visit Lynn, with no sleep at all. "Justin, you look like you’ve been up all night long." Lynn sighed shutting the door behind them as they walked into the front room.
"I was up, I couldn’t sleep." Justin commented as he took Lynn into a hug
"Justin, I’m not going to beat around the bush here. I saw the bruises on Shay’s arm, the ones you gave her." Lynn said as she sat down, Justin sat down next to her and looked at his feet. "Please tell me you aren’t hitting her. She just works for you, she can get you put in jail for that." Lynn added rubbing his back lightly.
"I wouldn’t hit her, I couldn’t hit her." Justin said leaning back on the couch and closing his eyes. "I just grab her arm to hard some times. She’ll walk away from me when I’m not done talking to her and I’ll grab her arm and yank her back." Justin finished opening his eyes and looking at his mom.
"What is going on between the two of you? Britney calls me up sobbing into the phone about you breaking up with her and telling me she saw pictures of you and Shay all over each other at a club." Lynn started as Justin sat up. "What is going on?" Lynn asked again
"I think we’re dating, I know we are. We’re seeing each other. Britney cheated on me, she’s been seeing Wade behind my back for months now." Justin said running a hand through his hair. "I’ve never really loved Britney, it was all fake what I kept saying. I knew she just wanted the fame that came with my name." Justin added
"You don’t think Shay wants that?" Lynn asked
Justin looked at his mom a smile forming on his lips; he took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Shay, almost killed me when her name was in the tabloids when she first started to work with me. Britney would buy the tabloids and actually be happy about it. Shay don’t want the fame, I know that." Justin sighed with a bright smile on his face remembering how Shay almost killed him when she saw a picture of her and Justin in the tabloids.
"How do you know Justin? That was three years ago, are you sure you are even ready to date again. You just broke up with someone you loved." Lynn asked again taking a drink of her water.
"You know she don’t want the fame mom! You’ve met her, she is the most down to earth, and bitchy person I’ve ever met. She doesn’t put up with my shit, you should be proud of her." Justin smiled as he looked at his mom. "I never loved Britney, it was an act for the spot light. I don’t even feel bad that I broke up with her. She pisses me off, the day I broke up with her she flew in and basically attacked Shay." Justin commented leaning back again on the couch smiling.
"Justin, I just want to know if this is what you want. If Shay is what you want, are you sure you even like her enough to see her?" Lynn asked
"Mom, I…" Justin sighed looking at his mom takes another drink of her water. "I love her." Lynn spit her water out and looked at her son.
"WHAT? You can’t love HER!" Lynn snapped standing up and pacing the front room.
Justin’s eyes popped open as he sat up, he wasn’t going to say that, and it just slipped out of his mouth, off his tongue. "I love her mom, I’ve always loved her!" Justin said standing up; he pulled at his hair as he smiled even brighter. "Mom, I love her I love her!" Justin smiled grabbing his mom and pulling her into a hug.
