~Advice for new Homeschooling Families~
~Put God 1st!
If you let God have control of your Homeschool , you will suceed! Pray to God and ask him for wisdom for your child(ren) and yourself. He will supply "ALL" your needs,if you give him full control.

~Visit your local library and check out several books on homeschooling. I added a list of books, on my
"Homeschool Welcome" Page. Copy the list and take it with you to the library.

~Contact your county BOE and, request a homeschool information packet. It will include the laws for your state,an intent to homeschool sheet, attendance sheets, etc. Contact your public school and inform them of your plans to homeschool(if your child is already in school). Fill out and mail the intent to homeschool sheet to the address that the BOE gives you (before or within 30 days of establishing your homeschool).

~Next, join a Homeschool Group. Joining a Homeschool group has been another of the biggest helps in our Homeschool. They will help you every step of the way. One thing I have found is that these days,it is not favored to be different. Homeschoolers are often picked out as strange and different. It's hard to find positive people who support you 100% in the negative world we live in. So by joining a Support  group you can meet many wonderful people and friends that are alot like yourself. They will be a big help and inspiration. Many groups are there to  share advice and supplies. This has been so helpful for me,and saved me tons of time and money. I tried it 4 years by myself , it can be a bit tough to go alone. Now, I have my homeschool friends there 24/7 and it has been a huge blessing.

~I encourage you to join the homeschool legal defence association just in case you ever have a legal problem.. They are there 24/7 for homeschool families.
