Welcome to my little corner of the internet.  I don't know what might have brought you here, nor how long you'll stay.  It seems a bit presumptous to think that anyone would be interested in me or my somewhat eclectic interests.  So perhaps the purpose of this homepage is merely to entertain and express myself.  If you decide to stay, feel free to pour a cup of coffee, light a cigarette, and kick off your shoes. First, the basics.  I'm a native Texan and have spent my entire half century in the Lone Star State.  I work as a pediatric occupational therapist.  I'm a single adoptive mom to 10 children (well, most are no longer children, but young adults), most of whom have special needs. What am I interested in?  For many years my children have dictated my interests.  I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia, anorexia, attachment disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, Tourette syndrome, drug addiction.  Now that I'm beginning to see the finish line in this parenting marathon, I'm reclaiming those parts of my life that have been on hold for so many years and developing new ones:  gardening, music, Russian language, writing.
