Me and my husband tried for 10 years to have a baby. I had Stage 4 endo and history of cysts. Endo was removed, but of course came back. We tried several cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. All failed. The next month, I got pg naturally! Imagine the shock of the doctors! The first several weeks it was in the lab doing blood work every other day! Only to hear that my numbers weren't rising like they should. My OB was preparing me for a m/c. I prayed about the situation and turned it over to God. I knew that he was in control and his will would be done.
Finally around 7 weeks and 2 days we got a heartbeat and my OB started being positive. I had all the testing done and everything came back great! At 32 weeks I went into premature labor and it was stopped. I ended up being on medications until week 37. Then at 39 weeks and 5 days I started to go into labor and the OB helped my labor progress. The next night my son was born but had been stressed during delivery so he had to be on oxygen for a couple hours. He is now a very healthy energetic 22 month old! {May 2003}

After my 6 week checkup and pap, the doctors office called to tell me that my pap was abnormal. So I had to have a biopsy done. It came back displaysia {precancerous cells}. So I had the cryosurgery to remove it. Well we started trying for baby #2 when he was 5 months old and got lucky our first try! Imagine our surprise!!!!!!!! Totally shocked. However, at 7 weeks I started to spot red blood. At at 7 weeks 6 days{Jan 6, 02}, I m/c and had to have an emergency D&C. So we waited 2 months then started trying again. But nothing. Then in August I dragged out the dreaded hpt and it was positive!!!! Well I think I took over 20 of them. All positive! So I went for my beta. It was negative and I was devastated!!!!! And mad. So I called my insurance company and asked if IVF was covered. Tomy shock they said yes!!!! I immediately made an appt with a IVF clinic! I was able to get an appt 2 weeks later!!!! So we did the clomid challenge test. Not good, the endo had did its damage on my ovaries. They did not respond well to stimulation. So I was told IVF was our way to go.
October we did our 1st IVF. I was on supression meds for 2 weeks. I was on 4 amps a day for 9 days of stim meds. {maximum 6 amps} We got 4 eggs. They did natural fertilization and only 1 fertilized. It was a perfect 6 celled embryo on day 3 transfer. But that cycle failed. Normally they are at the 8 cell stage.
Then it was back to the Clinic. I had 3 large cysts. I had to go on BCP's for 18 days. Then we preceeded with IVF #2. I was put on 6 amps for 10 days. We got 3 eggs. So they did ICSI. All 3 fertilized, but 1 was abnormal. So transfer day I went in {they don't give you results till that day} and waited to hear the news. We had 2 perfect embryos! 10 cell and 8 cell. Up till this point I was so sure this cycle was a failure too! But from this point on I was sure this was it, it was gonna work! Then came dreaded hpt day! 7 days past transfer! I got a very very faint positive! So I was so scared it was another false positive!! AFter all I'd gotten them for months! Then for 2 days I was very ill. I couldn't keep no food down and my ulcer was doubling me over in pain so much I couldn't take it. So I went to the ER. I explained to the Doctor that I had done IVF and I may be pregnant. This was 9dp3dt. My beta was scheduled for the next day Christmas Eve!! So he agreed to go ahead and run a beta. Told me to call back in an hour and get the results. I called back and the nurse said I don't know if this is good news or bad news! My heart dropped to the floor! So I asked what's the result? She said its positive, beta was 74!!!!!!!!!! I was in total shock and amazement!
I am now 22 1/2 weeks pregnant with TWINS. (As of May 5, 2003) My beta's have been rising perfectly. My first u/s was Jan 8. I've had mega morning sickness since 7dp3dt!!!!!! I was even on meds for the sickness!
Just wanted to let you know nothing is impossible thru God. I've had severe endo, over weight, and cysts. My dh had low sperm count and had corrective surgery. His count did improve to normal. And after 12 years of marriage, we are finally expecting baby number 2 and number 3!
