Introducing: Emma Grace Fricker
It all started on Monday the 21st at 5am when my membranes ruptured.  Wayne and I rushed to Kingston Hospital and were told we would have to be medi-vaced to Westchester Medical Center because they were not a NICU nursery.  She was only 33 weeks gestation.

I was put on steroids for her lungs and magnesium sulfate to stop my contractions.  We needed to buy some time for her to develop just a bit more.  I was so scared.  We joked how we only completed two childbirth classes and that I was not "allowed" to go into Second Stage Labor because of it.  Well, I found out first hand how painful it would be!

on Wednesday the 23rd, I went into active labor and boy was it active!  I had two shots of demrol to ease the pain and tried to rest up for the main event.  By 4pm I was 9 and 1/2 cm dialated and 100% effaced.  The Dr. told me I could start pushing since there was a great chance she was small.

Pushing was NOT easy.  I began to panic and could not get that deep breath in they tell yu about.  So my pushes were short and strained.  But, at 5:10 after 30 minutes of pushing.... Emma arrived crying into the world.
