Breast Cancer 3-Day -- Day 2

These are my photos from Day 2.

Pit stop 2. Nina said something about pink stuff oozing through her sock. A trip to the med tent seemed prudent.

Lunch was as far as I made it on Day 2. That was 10.8 miles walked and the rest by bus. If it had just been the blisters, no problem. If it had just been the back pain, no problem. We were getting urged out of each stop as it closed, so I knew we'd be getting to camp late with little time to recover for the next day. I knew I needed the recovery time cause I wanted to walk all of the Day 3 miles!

Nina is still smiling!

Bitch in Heels and Reporterbabe are still smiling!

Here is were we picked up our luggage and tents.

The tent was the exact length as my camp pad. My duffel was too big to bit in a garbage bag and leave outside all night (don't want dew to fall on it!) so we put the bags down the middle and/or fashioned them into recliners.

The semis down at the end are the shower rooms, and of course you recognize the porta potties by now.

Camp services included lost & found, snacks, conference tent, a place to meet the coaches and sing up for 2005, a store selling 3 Day merchandise, and a remembrance tent.

Camp also had a medical tent, food service tent, and beverage tent. The semis in the background are mobile kitchens.

The dining tent was huge. You can see the stage to the right.

Did I mention how large the dining tent was?

The last walker makes it in and everyone cheers.

This is why you want a tent marker. Something as simple as a bandana sized fabric and two clothspins would work. The addresses (e.g. B42 or G17) are marked on little stakes, so we did get by okay.

K and rebel head to dinner. Have I commented on the size of that dinning tent?

A disco band at the end of Day 2?!? Who's going to feel like dancing?

"Do the hamstring!"
"Do the willi!"
"Lunge, boogy-boogy, lunge!"
