 | Thomas C. Bruegger is the
Director of the Conservation Board. The
director is hired to carry out Board policies and projects.
It is the duty of
the Conservation Board to set policy and to decide which projects
are to be implemented and developed.
The Board was created in 1960 by the voters of
Monona County. |

The mission of the
Monona County Conservation Board is to acquire - by lease, gift, or
purchase - land for public parks, wildlife areas, forest preserves,
recreational areas, and historic sites.

The shoulder patch
is the symbol and signature of the Monona County Conservation Board.
The patch serves as a reminder to not only to provide outdoor
recreation and education, but more importantly, to preserve and use
our natural resources wisely. This patch is proudly worn on the
uniforms of employees.
