About Monte Wright

STATEMENT Over the years, I've been influenced by Christian beliefs and an intense interest in our natural environment. In the nineties, I explored the closeness between life and nature through textured, mixed-media and computer-generated pieces. In the beginnings of the twentieth century I have been moving closer to simpler, expressionistic work. My latest series of paintings began in 2004. These action works are objective, expressions of our place in the universe. Subject matter is secondary to the exploration of line, space and texture. Basic colours and fluid movement are of prime importance throughout the canvas. Each work created is intended to evoke a sense of the unseen world and the mysteries that envelop us. The 4 computer art prints reflect the dedication of Jewish leaders to the teachings of God. The images are combined with ancient tombstones.
