January 2002 - March 2003 NORTHLAND POWER INC., Toronto, Canada - a leading Canadian independent power producer with 4 generating power plants under its management (3 plants are located in Canada, and one in Europe)

Accomplishments and responsibilities:  

  • Work with senior management in developing a $US200 heat and power plant's expansion and reconstruction project.  Develop proprietary financial models in Excel for review by the company's investors and creditors. Prepare project development information for a bank;

  • Developed proprietary Excel-based financial model for valuation of power plant located in Europe;

  • Evaluate and oversee all aspects of the operational and financial performance of the heat and power plant located in Europe, including monitoring financial and operating performance and analysis of creditors and debtors;

  • Worked closely with company's CEO and CFO on developing annual budget. Analyzed actual results and compared them to the budgeted targets on quarter and annual basis;

  • Screen investment opportunities in power generating industry.

Atlantik East was closed down in 1999, in the aftermath of the Russian financial crisis in 1998.
