Tuxedo Mask, and the existing characters. However, some other characters in this series

"Hold it right there!" a voice shattered the eerie silence. "I'm the eternal Champion
of Love and Justice, Eternal Sailor Moon. On behalf of the moon I right wrongs and
triumph over evil! And that means you, nega sleaze."
"Well, well. I wasn't informed there would be playthings provided!" the woman
laughed. "A bunch of girls in sailor suits think they can stop me? I am Solaris, children, an
elite warrior of the NegaStar family. I was not informed there were Sailor brats here, but
you can't be any tougher that the ones we have already killed. Let's see how long you can
last."
	"Nega...Star?" Mercury wondered.
"Solar Starburst!" Solaris cried. A sphere of golden energy and flames grew
between her hands. Spinning around, she threw the sphere into the midst of the Scouts,
where it exploded like a supernova, spraying energy and flames everywhere. The Scouts
were knocked to the ground, a small crater now present where Solaris's Starburst attack had
struck.
Dazed, Mina tried to pull herself to her feet. "She's strong," she whispered to the
others.
"Shame on you for picking on my friends!" a familiar voice called out.
"Sailor Mars!" the Scouts cried in welcome.
"On behalf of the fires of Mars I will punish you!" Mars announced to the nega
warrior. "You like to set flames against others? Here's some right back at you! MARS
FLAME SNIPER!" A bow of fire appeared in her hands. Mars fired an arrow of flame,
which raced towards Solaris.
Solaris laughed as the flames hit her body and immediately disappeared.
"Huh?! What happened?" Mars asked, glancing around wildly for an answer. "Why
didn't it work?" she mused.
"Look!" Sailor Moon yelled, pointing at their foe.
Solaris's hair began to glow an even brighter gold, and her eyes flashed with
emerald energy. She seemed to grow taller, as an aura of flames appeared around her. She
tipped her head back and laughed evilly, the sounds echoing through the empty building.
Tapping away furiously on her computer, Mercury pulled down her visor, studying
the aura surrounding Solaris. "Oh no!" she cried. "Mars, your attack only made her
stronger. She must be able to feed of fire attacks!" Mercury warned her fellow Scouts.
"Great!" Mars complained. "So what am I supposed to do here then?!"
"Watch and learn, pyro!" Jupiter called. "JUPITER OAK EVOLUTION!" The
resulting energy blasts flew towards Solaris, knocking into her with enough force to send
her crashing to the ground.
"Why don't you save yourself the bother," Mina growled. "And stay down!!
VENUS LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!" Solaris's attempts to struggle to her feet were
halted by a chain of energy hearts pounding into her back.
"Oomph!" Solaris grunted, as she was slammed back into the ground. "Well, well,"
she said cheerily, as she pulled herself back onto her feet. "You brats have got some punch
in you after all. Lucky me," she smiled falsely, and glanced down at her torn scarlet
costume. "You brats'll pay!" she growled. "You're fin-"
~Solaris! Quit fooling around!~ Oracle interrupted her. ~Get that energy back
here NOW!~
"Well, well. It's been fun, brats," Solaris lied, grabbing the swirling sphere of
human energy. "But I really must be going. Ta!" Solaris's body seemed to melt into into
golden energy, which flashed like a small exploding star. When the Scouts could see again,
Solaris was gone.

"What the big deal?" Solaris grumbled, reappearing the same way in the State
Room.
"The big deal," Oracle remarked mildly, "is gaining the necessary amounts of
energy, and you getting your butt kicked."
"Yeah, love the outfit," Akira drawled, noticing how little of her scanty clothes were
actually left.
Solaris shot him a glare that could freeze a white dwarf star.
	"Akira!" Oracle snapped.
"Yes ma'am?" he replied casually, ignoring the reprimand.
"I've located our little fate anomaly. I want you to go retrieve her," instructed
Oracle.
"Her?!" asked Solaris and Akira together.
"Yes, her." Oracle telepathically planted an image of Akira's destination in his mind.
"Don't even think of trying anything Akira," she warned the young man, catching an errant
thought. "The punishments will far outweigh the rewards."
"Party pooper," mumbled Akira. Closing his eyes he solidified his form till he
resembled a clay statue. The statue broke, the outside shell crumbling to the ground, the
man himself long gone.
Glancing at the pile of dirt on the floor, Oracle sighed. "I really wish he wouldn't do
that in here."

	Taptapp tap tatapp.
"I can't believe you let her get away, meatball head!"
"And just how do you consider it was my fault, Rei?!"
Taptap. Tap taptapp tap. Fingers flying rapidly over the keys on her minicomputer,
Ami listened in exasperation to her friends. They were seated under a shady tree in the park,
looking like a normal group of teenage girls relaxing after a hard day at school.
"Well if you weren't so ditzy, and actually managed to think on your own, youwould have
moondusted the witch before she escaped!" Rei accused.
"I'm ditzy?! Who was the one who made her even more powerful than she already
was?!" Serena countered.
"Guys!! Enough!" Ami cried, unable to concentrate any longer. "Your arguing will
get us nowhere. It's not anyone's fault that she escaped. We simply weren't ready for
another attack," the voice of reason, Ami soothed the ruffled tempers of Rei and Serena.
"So Ami, what have you got on - what did she call herself again?" Mina took
charge, directing the conversation back to the problem at hand.
"Not much, I'm afraid," Ami sighed dejectedly. "She called herself Solaris, and said
she was part of the NegaStar family. I still have the readings I previously gathered stored in
my computer, but they don't really tell me anything useful yet."
"NegaStar?" Lita repeated. "Any relation the the NegaMoon family?" she asked,
shivering at the memory of their former enemies.
"I don't know," Ami replied. "I suppose we could ask Catzie and her sisters, but it's
unlikely that two negative forces would exist too close to one another."
Mina looked away, a pensive frown on her face.
	"What's up V-babe?" Serena asked.
Mina faced the entire group, her serious and worried expression catching the
attention of the others. "I think we may be in serious trouble guys," she began. "Solaris said
that she and her family had already faced other Scouts, and killed them. That's more than
anyone other than Galaxia has managed. And I know we were beating her today, but if she's got
more of her NegaStar family here in Tokyo...," Mina trailed off. "This could get
really bad."
Serena, Rei, Lita and Ami stared at Mina, eyes wide open as they caught on to
Mina's train of thought. "I'll go see Catzie and her sisters," Ami volunteered, gathering her
books and minicomputer. "I'll show them my readings and see if they recognise anything."
Nodding in unison, the other girls stood. Sighing, dreading the thought of being on
alert for yet another enemy, Serena headed down the concrete path through the park.

Black eyes blazing, lost in her thoughts, Ari didn't notice when her walk to get some
fresh air took her into the park. Having swapped her skates for specially padded runners,
she only felt the slightest twinge of protest from her left ankle as she stalked along a path
under the trees.
*I know exactly why Lila's here too!* Ari stormed to herself. *To do the same
thing she was trying back in New York - convince her dear old friend Michael to pair
skate with her. "You know Ari can't skate any more," "Just until she recovers then -
this long break is bad for your career".* Stepping off the path to lean against a tree
overlooking a large pond, Ari's lips curved into a wry smile. *And you just left her alone
with him,* she told herself. *This just isn't my day for smart decisions, is it?*
Sighing, Ari gazed at the sunlight twinkling on the surface of the lake. Tiny sparkles
danced along ripples created by ducks and the tiny boats that people hired out. Allowing the
peaceful scene to wash over her, Ari ran through some relaxation techniques until she felt
she could face Michael and Lila without trying to impale them with her skates. "But it would
be -so- much fun!" she whispered wickedly, grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Sticking her
hands into the pockets of her Levi jeans, she stepped back onto the path, exhaling heavily to
blow her long fringe out of her eyes.
	Bang!!
Knocked to the rough concrete, her left ankle sending sharp waves of pain up her
leg, Ari's temper flared back up. "Why don't you watch where the heck you're goin'?!" she
snarled, rubbing her left ankle gently.
"Sorry, I seem to be doing this a lot today," a familiar voice began.
"Huh?" Ari jerked her head up to meet ocean blue eyes framed by a longish raven
fringe. "Darien?" she asked in surprise and delight.
"Ari?" Darien asked in disbelief. Gone was the modest uniform the university
insisted on, and Ari's previous meticulous appearance, replaced by faded blue jeans,
hanging dangerously low on her hips, and a tight violet crop top. A large golden hoop
dangled from each ear, with an extra diamond stud in her left. The longish layer of hair
hanging around her face combined with her clothes to give her a decidedly roguish look.
Ari herself took in Darien's running gear. "You jog a lot?" she asked, unconsciously
rubbing her ankle still.
"Yeah, it helps clear my head - hey, are you okay?" Darien questioned in a
concerned voice, noticing her treatment of her ankle. He offered her a hand to help her up.
Ari ignored Darien's offer of help, pulling herself to her feet. "I'm fine," she
snapped. "I can manage on my own." She thought of Michael, always trying to do
everything for her, as if she was an invalid and couldn't take care of herself. It rankled that
people thought she needed their help, as if she was inferior just because she was a girl.
"Whoa," Darien said, backing back, hands raised in front of him. "I was trying to
make up for knocking you down," he improvised, noting the scowl that had appeared on
her face. "Everyone needs a little help now and again," he told her softly.
Ari sighed, and let it go. "You said you were making a habit of knocking people
down?" she pointedly reminded him, tossing her head to remove her hair from her line of
vision.
"Oh, yeah," Darien grimaced, as he remembered. "Serena this morning, I made us
both late..." he trailed off, lost in thought. "I swear I'm turning into Serena," he muttered.
"Who's Serena?" Ari asked, her curiosity piqued. She tilted her head to the left,
watching him from under the cover of her fringe.
"Serena is his girlfriend!" an angry voice interrupted them.
Glancing up in surprise, Darien and Ari turned to face the young blonde girl who
had approached silently. Ari's gaze travelled over twin balls of golden hair on top of the
girl's head, which spilled into twin pigtails. Baby blue eyes couldn't seem to decide if they
were angry or about to overflow with tears. A young open face suggested the girl was still
in high school.
"At least, that's what I thought!" Serena accused, her arms straight by her sides,
hands clenched into fists.
"Uh oh," Ari whispered, pulling her face into a mock grimace. "Jealous girlfriend."
*Figures that a guy as wonderful as Darien would already be taken,* she thought,
resigned. *I shoulda known.*
"Serena," Darien began, shocked by Serena's behaviour and her jumping to
conclusions. "You're imagining things. Ari is a friend of mine from university. I was
helping her up after I accidentally knocked her over," he explained.
"Oh, and when she kissed you earlier today, I suppose I imagined that too," Serena
sobbed, her tears finally overflowing, walking uncertainly towards Darien.
"Double uh oh," Ari winced, feeling extremely guilty. "Knew that was a mistake."
Darien glanced away, obviously embarrassed by both the kiss and Serena's display.
Ari glanced away, embarrassed at causing trouble, and witnessing this scene.
Mistaking Darien's refusal to meet her eyes, Serena burst into full wailing mode.
"D-Darien, I know I made you m-mad this morning, b-but that's no reason to le-leave me,"
she managed between sobs, grabbing onto his arm.
"Serena - " Darien began, his face bright red.
"I'm sorry if I made you really mad," Serena interrupted. "But that doesn't mean
you don't love me anymore, right?" Her tear filled eyes begged for reassurance. "You're not
going to tell me you don't love me again are you?" she bawled, sniffing as she tried to get
her emotions under control.
Ari's eyes widened, filling with sympathy and understanding as she gazed at the
pretty blonde. *God, she has such low self esteem. What did he do to make her so
unsure of herself, and their relationship?*
"Serena," Darien tried again, his voice tighter with the strain of trying to maintain
his composure.
"We're meant to be together!" Serena wailed. "Why are you leaving me for her?"
Darien's face clouded over. "Obviously, you're going to think what you want about
me, and not even let me try to explain. I'm not going into this here," he added, glancing
around at the people gawking at Serena's tantrum. "See you around, Serena. I'll see you in
school tomorrow Ari," Darien excused himself, his voice frosty, and he turned and jogged
away down the path.
Serena drew on reserve tanks of excess noise and burst into even louder wailing, as
she turned and ran back the way she had came.
Ari stared after her, having felt the girl's heartbreak, and undying love for Darien.
Resolving to try and explain her mistake to the girl, Ari began to follow the blonde pigtails
off into the trees, away from the onlookers.
"Not so fast," a deep voice interrupted, strong hands closing around her biceps.
"What?" Ari glanced back to find herself held by a guy about her height with spiky
purple hair. "Let me go, you freak!" she struggled in his arms as he lifted her slightly off the
ground.
Akira ran his gaze over his captive appreciatively. "Oracle must have gotten the
location wrong," he laughed. "But while I'm here, I might as well have some fun," added
grinning evilly.
"Don't bet on it," Ari growled, her eyes darkening to almost-black. She drove her
right foot back with all the force she could muster.
"Aaarrgh," Akira dropped the red head as her foot connected with his kneecap,
knocking something out of place.
Springing to her feet, Ari turned to face her would-be assailant. "You really gotta
learn to pick better victims to mug," she advised him, bringing her fists up karate defence
style. Putting her weight on her right foot, she leapt up into the air, spinning and kicking out
her right foot to strike his face. Landing, she quipped, "I don't even have my wallet with
me."
Akira roared and lunged for her. Spinning on her left foot to run, Ari gasped as she
felt it collapse beneath her. Akira flew over her, barely missing her head as she fell heavily
to the ground. Pushing herself up, she gritted her teeth and tried to run.
Hands from behind stopped her short. He held her further away this time, so as to
avoid her legs. Not that Ari would have been able to kick him again, forced to support her
weight on her right leg, and not about to try using her left.
"Oracle will be pleased," Akira ground out. "Already a fighter, so much anger and
violence. She'll be glad she's finally found you."
"ÔFinally found me'? What?" Ari managed through the pain her leg was causing her.
Black dots swam in her vision, as waves of pain swam up her leg. "I don't know any
Ôoracle'..." she trailed off, as she saw her captor lift his arm.
The last thing she saw was Akira's gauntleted fist hurtling towards her face. His
mocking laughter followed her into welcome oblivion.

Blind white eyes stared unswervingly at the mechanisms surrounded the young
woman. A self-satisfied smile played across her lips. Hearing the *whoosh* of the door
behind her, she turned to face the two people entering.
Akira and Solaris dropped to their knees, performing customary bows to Oracle. "How
goes it, all-seeing leader?" Akira quipped, as he turned his attention to the figure
surrounded by various energies and liquids. Floating, suspended in a vertical tank, the
energy previously captured by Solaris powered a multitude of machines and ran through
tubes to gather around Ari.
"Your attempts at humour are as unnecessary as they are pitiful, Akira," Oracle
remarked coldly, turning her attention back to the proceedings. "I applaud you on your swift
apprehension and delivery of the human." Akira's face filled with a smug grin, his head
swelling. "However," Oracle added, bursting his inflated ego, "I don't recall asking you to
damage the goods. I didn't expect I would have to waste energies healing your handiwork."
"Hey," Akira protested. "She fought back. Well. And I didn't damage her that
much!"
Sensing his honesty, Oracle conceded, "Perhaps the worst injury was already
present then. You did well. Solaris, you could learn a lot from Akira."
Solaris ground her teeth, but refrained from opening her mouth. She knew that to do
so would only result in her getting into more trouble.
Akira glanced at Solaris, a superior smile on his smug face, lording it over her.
Solaris pulled her face into a silent hiss, blazing eyes daring him to even try anything. They
both knew that Oracle's opinion of who was the best NegaStar warrior could change by the
next day.
"Where is Tsuzuku?"Oracle interrupted them with a slight frown.
"Your dear beloved General is probably sulking in his quarters again," Akira
remarked snidely, resenting Tsuzuku's influence with their leader. It didn't make a
difference to him that Tsuzuku neither encouraged nor cared for Oracle's favour or good
opinion. Tsuzuku never seemed to do any wrong and that above all else irritated Akira. He
and Solaris had been part of the NegaStar family long before Tsuzuku, who had been one of
their enemies. Perhaps that was why Oracle kept Tsuzuku close, to flaunt that she had
turned someone of such importance, and to keep an eye on him. It was Akira's private belief
that if Tsuzuku had betrayed his family once, he was more than capable of doing it again to
his new adopted family.
Oracle opened her mouth, about to reply, but Akira was spared by the flashing of
black and purple energy from the tank where Ariana was held captive. Three heads turned,
eyes wide as saucers, to behold their unconscious prisoner.
A black flared skirt, like those of the Scouts, rippled eerily without wind, the top of
the skirt, with a thin strip of red, formed a ÔV' shape. Black high heeled boots ended above
knees, with tiny red flames forming a point around the tops. A tight black top, slightly
similar to Ari's crop top, had red flames rising from the bottom, and a faceted star formed
from black opal in the centre. A golden tiara, like all the Scouts, adorned her forehead, with
a star of black opal shining in the centre. Black metallic spikes, curving out and down,
formed armour on her shoulders, holding back a cape that was black on the back, and bright
red inside. Black metal armour covered her lower arms from wrists to just below elbows,
sporting sharp spikes up the bottom of them. Black stars on each of her ears held a Black
Poison Crystal, exactly like those Oracle wore, the only resemblance of the NegaStar family
to their NegaMoon brethren. Elegant wings sprouting from the young woman's back
sported silky raven feathers, glinting in the light.
"Tenshi no Shi," Oracle breathed, her face alight like a child on Christmas day. "My
Angel of Death."

End of Chapter 3.

How will Ariana take her new Change and powers? How will the Scouts fare against the
Angel of Death? Will Darien ever explain himself to Serena? For the answers to these
questions and more, check out Chapter 4: Dark Angel - Changes

Authors Note: No, I am not breaking Serena and Darien up. Sheesh, not even *I* am that
