Our group did a little bit of shopping today. The shopping is great around the White Swan Hotel. The people here are so friendly. Many of the people here speak good english. Tyler got to witness his first pair of split pants today on a little boy. For those that don't know what split pants are I will do my best to explain. The children here in China don't wear diapers. Instead they wear pants that are split up the middle and nothing under them. This way they can just squat and go potty where ever they please. Tyler was laughing when he saw this very cute little boy with his little you know what hanging out. We are learning so much here and Tyler is taking it all in. We walked through a park today. The parks are so beautiful here. I love that many of the people in the parks are dancing. If I were to dance in a park in the USA I would probably be arrested for looking like a nut! I just love how the Chinese people have such a peaceful spirit about them. I think I forgot to mention that Tyler and I got to use a squatty potty for the first time. Good thing I did my squats before traveling. That was quite the experience. You have to be very careful not to pee on your pants.
Last night Tyler and I moved from our room into a suite. We should of done this from the beginning. We have a nice livingroom and a big bedroom with 2 bathrooms. Much better! Addison likes the room to move around. She is crawling pretty good now. She is trying to pull herself up on everything. I love watching her come alive. We learn something new about our little girl everyday. She loves to have her back scratched. Addison also likes to growl. It's pretty funny. She is quite the little ham. Addison is afraid of the elevator . She does not like the crib here and is sleeping in a bassinet instead. Wondering what will happen when we get home and she goes into the crib. Maybe the bars on the crib remind her of the orphanage.
Tyler and I are counting down our days. We are in the homestretch now. The next few days will be filled with paperwork for Addison's visa. I miss my microwave and dishwasher. I'm having to use a hot pot to make bottles and an ice bucket with boiling water to wash the bottles. I know I will come home with a great appreciation for what we have in the USA. I can't wait to have ice cubes again and a starbucks peppermint mocha latte.
Olivia, Addison bought you a really cool toy today. Only 5 more nights and I will be home to tuck you in and kiss you "one more time". I miss you so much and I hope you know I am coming back.
Justin, Kenny and Chris I hope your helping dad out. I miss you all.
