My
Tazzy
- By
Cindi-Lee Campbell -
Deep inside my heart,
there is a warm place that we shared,
a place that is so
special, nothing else can be compared.
Some may ask how can that
be, he had four feet not two?
But your soul, it spoke,
and through our eyes, true friendship is what grew.
Some say that when a
loved one dies, a piece of them dies too,
But with you my Taz, the
love we shared, my heart, it only grew.
You joined us at a lonely
time, hearts numb and without feeling,
you filled our lives with
joy again, and set our hearts to healing.
You gave the ones you
loved so much, each day the gift of joy,
my heart it grew,
with love and trust, having shared it with my boy.
The countless hours we
had together, working side by side,
really, was I training
you, or along for just the ride?
I truly think that it was
you, really teaching me
of friendship, love and
purity, God’s gifts for us to see.
In my life, there will
never be another just like you,
But your love I carry
with me, in everything I do.
God, he called you home
again, your soul has been set free
and though I know
someone, may need your more, I pray you return to me.

Tazzy's entire life was spent making others happy. His personality shone
so brightly in in the dog show ring, as he pranced and
showed his stuff. In the obedience ring he was a a true ambassador to his breed with his stability, and humorous antics!
As a therapy dog
his gentle demeanor helped many children to
respect canines, and taught them how their
kindness would be returned. Many a
time I would be in a public place and hear a child say,
" look Mom, there is Tazzy's mother."
As an old timer, Tazzy took to carting better than any youngster could. He
was
seasoned in life, and pretty much knew exactly what to do! He achieved his
Drafting
Title a
couple of weeks before his 10th birthday, & as far as we can determine was the
first
Bullmastiff to do so in Canada.
Though his achievements outside our home were impressive, the joy he brought to
our our home is not even
measurable. He would greet our guests with pride and dignity, and if asked
would
share a wonderful cuddle with them on the couch. Many tell me that Tazzy
is the
reason
they fell in love with the bullmastiff breed.
One of his favorite times of the day would be when Barry shared with him a
piece of cheese, and
you dared not say the word baloney in our home, without the intent of sharing
a piece with Tazzy,
who up to the day he died, would spin and leap, and bark in anticipation of this
delight, with his ears held pretty much straight out from his head.
Tazzy became very weak, and ill, rather suddenly. With a quick
diagnosis of
hemangiosarcoma, we
helped him on his journey to heaven. Even during his last moments, he
was happy, with his tail softly
wagging, surrounded by those who loved him, and chewing
cookies. To
know Taz was to know joy and purity. A very special soul who taught us
that true friendship doesn't hold the boundaries of human form.

Forever loved and missed, our Tazzy
