WOMEN'S HEALTH Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, MD **Info on all sorts of women's health issues, from birth control to cancer. Very informative, well written. Our Bodies, Ourselves for the New Century: A Book by and for Women by Boston Women's Health Book Collective **The first edition of this classic is out of print. This is the new edition and contains new information, and updates on some of the original topics as well. A definate classic and a must have. What your Doctor May Not Tell you About Menopause by John R. Lee, MD **Informative book about how modern medicine has made women sick and the alternatives to hormone replacment therapy and hysterectomies. Some other info about menopause as well. Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls by Mary Bray Phiper **Case stories from her practice on the issues facing girls today. She talks about how to keep young girls from falling into the common traps of low self esteem, etc. Healing Wise: Wise Woman Herbal Series by Susan Weed ** The first book by the author, pioneer of Wise Woman herbalism. Full of info about herbs, nature and the use of herbs for women. All her books are worth a read for any age of woman. Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way: Alternatives for Women 30-90 by Susan Weed ** Another in the Wise Woman Herbal Series, this on focuses on the herbs and plants that can help us in our later years. Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year by Susan Weed ** Another of her great herbal books, this one fosused on the herbs for women through the childbearing times. Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman Way by Susan Weed **Herbal info for breasts and breast cancer. Hygieia: A Woman's Herbal by Jeannie Parvati ** A wonderful book with profiles of herbs for various female concerns. Full of great illustrations and stories. Natural Birth Control by Margaret Nofziger **Natural methods of birth control. Lunaception by Louise Lacey **Conceiving by the moon. Spiritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin ** A wonderful must have for any woman who have ever gone through birth, about to go through birth, or thinking of going through birth. The first half of the book are stories of births told by mother, fathers and midwives. The second half is full of information for the parents and midwives, about pregnancy, birth, and young babies. |

Femalia by Joani Blank, Ed. **Pictures of vaginas in all shapes and sizes. Quite beautiful. Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler (forword by Gloria Steinem) **A amazing commentary about vaginas. Originaly a play(monolouge) that is still performed, in the book the author adds comments and explanations to each piece. Wonderful, best if read out loud. |

And of course how it created the world we live in. Curse: A Cultural History of Mensturation by Janice Delaney, M.J. Lupton, E. Toth ** A menstrual history, full of lore, myths and touch of humor. Honouing Menstruation: A Time of Self-Renewal by Laura Owen **How to make your moontime sacred time to rest and reflect. Dragontime: Magic and Mystery of Menstruation by Lusia Francia **How to empower and draw power from, your moontime. SEX, FEMINISM, AND THE POLITICS OF THE BODY The Art of Sexual Ecstacy by Margo Anand **A work book to bring sexuality to a more spiritual level. Though it is meant for couples, there are alot of excersies that can be done on your own or with a good friend. The Chalice and the Blade: Our History, Our Future by Riane Eisler **The rise of patriarchy, the opression over women, and violence, and how not to repeat the pattern. There is also a compainion work book for groups focusing on these issues, it is called The Patnership Way. Sacred Pleasure: Sex, Myth, and the Polotics of the Body by Riane Eisler **About how sex came to be closely tied to violence and how to change that in our own lives. The Female Enuuch by Germaine Greer **The supression and opression of women sexuality. Gyn/Ecology, Beyond the Father, Pure Lust, Outercourse, and The Wickedary all by Mary Daly ** All her books are a good read, and if nothing eles will get you yelping mad. Hopefully they will give you something to think about as well. |

The Red Tent by Anita Diamant **Fiction The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk **Fictional book about the struggle between good and evil. Set in the future. |
