I am Only One
I am one,
A man, woman, child, or elder.
Living a life inside of a prison,
That society has erected around me.
These unseeable walls,
That attempt to keep the spirit caged.
Disregarding the norm,
To seek the truth.
To strong to be kept down,
But I am only one.
My individuality held without suppression,
A thorn in the side of oppressors.
Decision making capabilities,
Not conforming to your standards.
I am my own person,
I do not want to be a rat in your race.
You cannot tell me what to do,
Or who I am.
Intellect and complex understanding that terrorfize you,
To outspoken to be muzzled.
I am only one,
But there are others out there like me.
Others that will continue fighting in search of the truth,
Others that will not succomb to the dark cloud you superimpose on the world.
You can jail me, beat me, or martyr me,
But remember,
I am only one.
