This page will document some of the transport problems experienced by older persons in Moor Park. Older persons' have transport needs which have been poorly attended to by both operators and 'experts'. Transport to doctors' surgeries, to chemists and to other necessary health facilities are often poor and are currently being removed altogether (i.e. the routes 315/316/300 run by GoAhead Northern) with very negative consequences for older persons in the Moor Park area. Late buses forcing the elderly to stand, often in poor weather, sometimes at bus stops without shelters and a major concern for the elderly we have spoken to. As are buses that arrive at a stop too early (i.e. at a time pior to their advertised scheduled time), which mean that anyone arriving at that stop for a bus that's been ahead of schedule will be forced to wait for the next one - a potential wait of up to an hour, depending on the bus route number required.
