Route no. 315/316: This was a full circular route but now only covers North Shields, The Broadway/Beach Road, Preston Grainge Morrisons, N.T General Hospital, Billy Mill Roundabout Tynemouth Infirmary and back to North Shields.

Service totally withdrawn then reinstated part route: Residents from the Moor Park estate and surrounding areas are missing the service badly since the changes- particularly pensioners and young mothers. Residents are now left with a long walk with very busy roads to cross.

The 315/316 was used to service range of facilities:It was their transport to the Collingwood Clinic and the Nelson Health Centre in North Shields, it was also the most direct route to access the North Tyneside Adult Education College (Tynemouth College) in North Shields and all services at the top end of North Shields.

Requested action: reinstatement of 315/316 to its original route and time table. Since the changes this service now only operates between 9.00am and 3.00pm Mon-Frid, that means there is no transport on that route on Saturday and Sunday.

Route no.325/326:This is a circular route from Whitley Bay to North Shields via New York,Westminster Avenue,Norham Road North,Verne Road, Balkwell Estate and the Meadowell.

The time keeping on the 325/326 is atrocious. Creates dificulties as it is a hospital service bus and is now our only local bus to North Shields Centre.

It is our easy access assured service as well as a Hospital service bus and now the main form of Public Transport covering all these estates.

Requested action: better timekeeping in order to meet hospital journeys amongst others, ensure all buses are easy access.

Route no 44: Whitley Bay to Hazelrigg via Newcastle and return.

Unreliabilities on time keeping recorded since 25th Sept 2001 shows there has been no improvement to services between Newcastle/Whitley Bay/ (and return)end of the route for the passengers dependant on this bus.

When on time, this bus is useful,it is an express bus to Newcastle with only one stop on the Coast Road. Recent route changes means that this bus no longer goes into the Haymarket Station from Hazelrigg,it now goes into St Mary's Place. This is lethal for anyone with visual impairment or a physical disability trying to cross the road to the bus stop.

Requested action: better timekeeping and later finishing times particularly for late night shopping.Reconsider bus stop at St Mary's place, change the timing back to what it originally was to consider workers.

Route no 300: Whitley Bay to Newcastle: This bus used to run from Verne Road, Norham Road North and Middle Engine Lane to Hadrian Park, now omits Norham Road North and Middle Engine Lane.

Although this bus did not run in the evening it was a reliable service and well used.

It was our link to North Tyneside Adult Education College (Tynemouth College); North Tyneside College, Wallsend; NTC@Silverlink, and Battlehill Estate as well as Newcastle.

Need this bus reinstated to its original route. Why remove a bus away from bus stops and people to a road with no bus stops and no people to use it.Go North East's reason "to give Hadrian Park customers a faster service to North Shields" is not an acceptable reason for depriving another community of a bus service.

Route no 307: This bus runs from Tynemouth to Newcastle return:

This bus route goes through New York Village then into Cobalt Business Park but omites Westminster Avenue and Norham Road North.

There are now several bus routes taking in the Cobalt Business Park without taking in the surrounding communities.

Need to look at ways to route these buses to enable more people to access them.

Route no 343/344: Whitley Bay to Morpeth/ Cramlington and return: This bus runs every half hour alternately.

It is a good bus to access the new Killingworth shopping precinct and it is usually a good reliable service.

It is also a good service to Cramlington Town Centre,Morpeth Market, Forrest Hall and Benton Hypermarket and Shiremoor Metro.

The service does not start early on a Sunday and is often unreliable at weekends.

Route no 356 North Shields to Newcastle and return: This bus is scheduled to run every half hour.

It is a major service for the people of New York Village and Billy Mill Lane to get to North Shields,Newcastle and Shiremoor Metro.

This service appears to have so many problems at present it is difficult to see its benefits. The Company needs to check this whole service out as it cannot all be down to driver error as we are often told when we complain.

This unreliable service often runs very late and sometimes not at all. It has a habit of leaving New York Road and taking the New York Flyover road, this by-passes New York Village altogether.
