April 15th - Easter schmeaster There's two things that I'm feeling pretty happy about today. The first is that I have been learning some HTML over the weekend (thanks to some great help from Flopsy and a lot of experimenting on my part). The upshot of this is that this is the first journal entry I have written from scratch in HTML. I've also replaced a few of my other pages, with them now written in HTML by me, rather than being generated (in a rather messy fashion code-wise I might add) by the geocities page building tool. I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself about them, so please check out my progress page and my journal menu page to see what I've done. I'm particularly happy with the fact that I had to build some pretty complex tables in these pages. Oh, I also replaced the front page, but it looks pretty much the same so I won't rave on about that one. For those of you not interested in the technical side of web-page design, feel free to be unimpressed. I know it doesn't look all that much different. The second thing I am happy about is that it is easter sunday and I've not eaten any chocolate. In fact a lot of people have commented to me about how difficult easter was going to be for me, but I've come to the conclusion that it's easier for me than most people. As I have made a blanket choice not to eat chocolate this year, I haven't given it much thought really. Yet I know that other people who are trying to lose weight have agonised over the decision about whether to have any chocolate and how much to have. For me, I had a momentary pang when I first saw the small solid chocolate Cadbury dairy milk eggs hit the shelves a few weeks ago('cause I really love these), and then it was over. So my thoughts about why I'm giving chocolate up altogether this year seem to have worked out for me. Phew, that's one hassle I'm happy to do without for the time being... |
