Schedule of events:
August 1st-8th: 1-week opportunity to drop any player not currently signed by an NFL team without penalty. E-mail me to let me know who you want to drop during this week, and as long as they are not on an NFL team you will not incur a cap penalty. ***Complete***
Quadry Ismail (Quiet Storm) and Antonio Freeman (Ball Ho's) have both been released.
In an interesting move, the PhatBacks trade the rights to the newly acquired Amos Zeroue for Moe Williams from the StiffArms. With the potential loss of Michael Bennett for an extended period, the PhatBacks improve their chances of having one of the possible starters for the Vikings while the StiffArms add the possible starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers. |

The Assassins trade Martin Gramatica & the rights to T.J. Duckettto the Hitmen for the rights to both Adam Vinitari & William Green. The Assassins are looking to bolster their roster with another solid running back, and by adding the rights to William Green, should be able to sign him at a discount over what they would have had to pay if he was unrestricted. The Hitmen add a solid kicker to fill one of their "needs" going into the Auction. The Assassins now have the lowest payroll in the CFFL at only $21 for their 7 players under contract, leaving them $79 to go after their remaining 8 players (average of close to $10 per player). |

***BLOCKBUSTER*** The Assassins trade their star QB Peyton Manning to the PhatBacks for Joe Horn With Vick in the fold, Manning was expendable for the Assassins and enables them to acquire another top-notch receiver to compliment Bruce. The PhatBacks add their fourth QB, but get one that is guaranteed (bar injury) to finish in the top 5 at his position. |

The Marauders trade the unpopular Tim Couch ($2, 1 year) and the coveted rights to Amos Zereoue to the PhatBacks for the rights to last year's disappointment Thomas Jones. The Marauders look to have a cheaper back on their RFA list that they may be able to resign in the auction while the Phatbacks add a possible starting QB as well as the rights to a better back than Jones. |
